This is a little gem of a property. The host Richard is a charming man, who wants you to enjoy his house. He serves beautiful homemade jams, made from fruits from his garden, with homemade brown bread. The house is full of character, and a 10-minute walk from the town centre. Recommend taking the back road.

Welcoming apartment, very well-equipped, in a beautiful village right by the water. This was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Perfect place for a short- or long-term stay. We were here for ten days and explored the region and absolutely loved it.

This super friendly little hostel is a winner! Its location in the middle of Connemara is optimal for exploring the surroundings in all directions (by car). You will find a lot more than you need for cooking in the open space kitchen. There's a spacious room for eating and also a cozy lounge with a little fire place - and a lake view. The dorm might be a bit small, but you'll find storage space under the bed (lockable if you bring a pad lock). Shared toilets and showers are functional and clean. Also...they have the most comfortable hostel bed I've ever slept in (personal preference). I felt genuinely welcome and looked after by the staff at Ben Lettery Hostel and will for sure return as soon as possible!

It is a beautiful village on what feels like the edge of the world, surrounded by beautiful beaches, wonderful nature colours in a perfect setting. Perfect for group, family or solo trips. Great variety of pubs and eating choices in Roundstone village itself. I will be back for another visit and I will recommend to my friends too. Its a long drive over from Dublin but 100% worth it

I am biased because my mother came from there, but I can't...

I am biased because my mother came from there, but I can't imagine a more beautiful place. We ate at the very friendly Shamrock Bar and also at O'Dowds seafood restaurant and O'Dowd's cafe. It is a great small village, founded by Alexander Nimmo in the nineteenth century, so full of colourful terraced Victorian houses and easy to talk round . It has spectacular views of the mountains and sea.

Roundstone has maintained its laid back appeal over the 50+ years I have been going there. it never fails. The various bars and eating places are all of a very high standard. the local beaches are probably the finest in the world and the surrounding countryside is stunning.

Roundstone is a small, pretty place so with not much to offer for longer stays. The location of the hotel a short distance from Roundstone was ideal for guaranteed peace and quiet. We found our three night stay was just enough to cover the area, including Clifden, the Sky Road, Kylemore Abbey & Gardens, Kilary Fjiord/Cruise. Because of Covid restrictions we opted to eat in the Hotel each evening. The food was excellent.

We had a wonderful stay at Eldon's. A perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of Roundstone and Connemara. Jemma and Joey were exceptional hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Great advice on running trails and beaches! The breakfast was fantastic - fresh and delicious - and the rooms spotless and comfortable. Thank you!

Location was wonderful, dinner was so disappointing.... the four of us had steaks they were so tough we left most on our plate. Literally told by a staff member that he did not want to hear our complaints about the temperature throughout the hotel or how they had to keep all the windows closed due to the midges! Would not stay there again

Our hosts made us feel very welcome. They’re knowledgable about the area. The breakfast was superb. It’s a quiet, elevated location with superb views. Roundstone. Gurteen Beach and Dog Bay are within easy reach. The property is located on the Wild Atlantic Way.
