As a French discovering Ireland for the first time, I was reticent to the idea of a B&B (as I am used to hotels). It was a great experience. The place was wonderful with an adorable scenery (and view on the castle). The hosts were really kind and welcoming. The house and rooms had beautiful decorations. And my first real local breakfast was tasty and again with a sweet scenery.

We (group of 5) had a great 2-night stay in Kozy Kabin. It has everything you need for a relaxing stay, and the hot tub is amazing. Note the freezer is behind the door in the outdoor area (we didn't realise this until the last day) and the code for the entrance is in an email from Booking.com, not on the booking.com confirmation page (my mistake) Would definitely come back for another celebration or just a relaxing weekend

This was one of the highlights of our travels around Ireland. The place itself is clean, comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. It’s private, quiet and so peaceful. The best part was Michael and Anne who were so friendly, warm and helpful. We never needed to consult Google because they were so helpful with advice on great places to visit and things to do. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Lovely pod - I was worried it would be too cosy for a family of 6 but we had plenty of room. It also had everything we needed for a one night stay - just wished we'd had more time there! Farm was great - lots to see and do which the kids (aged between 7 and 14) loved, especially the chocolate!

Lovely heritage town with loads of history, imposing castle and beautiful river walks! Only one restaurant open past 4pm, a few nice cafes, but generally not many possibilities for food in the evening.

Lismore Castle gardens and art gallery are wonderful and...

Lismore Castle gardens and art gallery are wonderful and well worth the entry price. We spent about 3 hours there and enjoyed it very much. There are local walks along St Declan's way and a lovely drive up to the Vee in the Knockmealdown mountains nearby.

Beautiful historic town with one of the most amazing castles...

Beautiful historic town with one of the most amazing castles in the country, steeped in history. So many famous people have had links to the castle including the Mitford sisters, Fred Astaire and JFK. Amazing gardens too. Beautiful town also with a fantastic visitors’ centre and lovely shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Shout out for Valerie’s Gallery - a beautiful shop full of Valerie’s hand made arts and crafts. Well worth a visit.

A very pleasant town with a most interesting cathedral and an excellent Visitor Centre (the virtual reality presentation of Lismore Castle should not be missed). Also of note is the small park in the centre of town, very well set out and with some excellent information boards.

We had a wonderful visit to ballyrafter house recently 15th...

We had a wonderful visit to ballyrafter house recently 15th July 2022 it was absolutely perfect..an amazing house with lovely staff and proprietors. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and the bed was superb, breakfast was top class and grounds were immaculate, rabbits were entertaining too..would highly recommend this property while touring the sunny south... Fidelma..

Went to a variety show in Cappoquin near Lismore but went...

Went to a variety show in Cappoquin near Lismore but went next day to races. Old castle in the town as well a car parking for the races. Interesting milestones to various towns. Road from Mount Mellary to Lismore but saw on map of a private short cut through Cappoquin Denmense. Would have paid to cycle through it.

1.4kms away from the nearest bus stop. Have to walk out. Takes 20 mins. Must have an own car for this B&B. No pedestrian walkway at some parts of the road to the bus stop. No taxi services provided by the hotel upon request. Very difficult to hire a taxi in and out on our own. Breakfast timings and menu fixed upon arrival at Hotel, too rigid. No phone in the room to call to reception for enquiries or assistance. No electric kettle for boiling water. No lifts had to walk up 3 flights of steps with the luggage up to the room.
