Katie’s Cottage is a very cozy and comfortable house in the countryside, equipped with everything you need for a few days’ holiday. You’ll find a kitchen with a good gas stove and all you need for real cooking. On a colder day, the solid fuel (wood) stove in the living room gives some very pleasant additional warmth. Brian is a very kind and helpful host, and he has prepared some bits and pieces of information that are not only really helpful to understand where you are and what to do, but are really personal in character. We liked to follow some of this advice, felt quite at home and would have liked to stay for some more days …

I rarely leave reviews for places I stayed in but I had to make an exception in this case. The cottage is in immaculate condition! Everything is exactly as you can see in the pictures but there is way more waiting for you: the tranquillity of perfect silence at night and birds singling in the morning. Jim & Anne Marie are excellent hosts who give you privacy even though they are nearby if you need them. They thought of everything you may need during your stay. Well-stocked fridge and pantry were also a pleasant surprise. I can strongly recommend this place for every person looking for a bit of escapism from the daily grind. We will be back for sure.

The cabin was in a beautifully remote spot, off the grid that allowed for zero distractions. The bed was perfect, not only the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in but was fitted with an array of blankets that ensured that you didn’t want for more. The view was gorgeous and we visited Galbally village that held everything we needed for our stay. The board games provided were a godsend on a rainy night in.
