We loved this place! Christine is a wonderful host and has created a wonderful apartment. Such attention to detail! High quality Everything, very comfortable, very quiet. Steps away from the best restaurant (The Snug). Many unexpected and delightful touches (e.g. she stocked the fridge with breakfast essentials, and provided delicious soda bread (toast and slather on the butter for a true taste of Ireland).

Durrus is a central location for days of car touring from Ballydehob, Schull, Goleen, Crookhaven, BarleyCove & The Mizen. Or exploring out to Sheep's Head Lighthouse and walking the many walking routes on the peninsulas. Only a few minutes drive to town of Bantry and its restaurants many tourist attractions. And Durrus is only half an hour's drive from Glengarriff via Bantry and Ballylickey along the exquisite sheltered coastal road west. Durrus is very small. Have to recommend Anna Langrish's Gallery and Cafe in nearby Ahakista. Lovely coffee and cakes in Goleen. Didn't have time to eat as we did so much sightseeing.

Durrus only comes alive during the warmer months.

Durrus only comes alive during the warmer months. Finding a restaurant before June requires going to Bantry (10km further). Durrus isn't a place to visit; it's a base from which to explore the breathtaking Irish moors and landscapes.
