Harbour view stay made us very comfortable and welcome.

Harbour view stay made us very comfortable and welcome. The restaurants were very pleasant and the surrounding area a must to see with Dunboy Castle and Puxley Mansion. The copper mines and museum 20 mins away is a must. Short or long stay it can provide all you desire. But do make sure to visit Mac Carthy’s Bar. A great relaxing evening is assured.

Lovely escape to a bit of peace and tranquility.

Lovely escape to a bit of peace and tranquility. There is plenty to do in the area - hikes, Dursley cable car, Bear Island - but equally lovely to enjoy relaxing in a pub or playing scrabble in front of a fire. The people are very friendly and the restaurants are fantastic- wonderful food and great atmosphere. Highly recommended if you want to go off grid and relax.

We started the week on the Wild Atlantic Way in Ballybunion.

We started the week on the Wild Atlantic Way in Ballybunion. We went on to Ballyferriter , Portmagee, Parknasilla and finished in Castletownbere. The scenery is wonderful. We would not have left any town out. All had something to offer.

Castletownbere is a fabulous place to visit.

Castletownbere is a fabulous place to visit. It is such a good base making it very easy to visit surrounding areas including Garnish, Dursry Island, Glengariff, Bantry, Kenmare and so on. There is also an excellent rural bus service now which is great for people that don’t drive and it runs all through the year There is a good variety of shops to visit and some lovely little pubs and bars including the fabulous McCarthys which has a lot of character and has a little shop inside, a great place to visit. Then there’s Harrington’s store and you can but almost anything there including little gifts to take home. Lynch’s is a lovely place to eat and do lovely food including vegetarian options. There are lots of hairdresser and beauty studios if needed

The welcome from Dennis was fantastic. I loved the fresh warm bread at breakfast. The cereal, toast, ham and cheese was plenty. I really like that I could just come and make a pot of tea or some coffee. The room was very comfortable and the shower was decent. I was visiting Castletownbere with some friends who had a house in the town. No problem coming and going with a key late in, after the pubs shut.

The single room was perfect for a solo traveller. I found the velux window very nice as it was very warm weather during my stay. The ensuite was beautiful with great water pressure. It was a very cosy room with a comfortable bed. It's situated smack bang in the middle of Castletownbere with lots of options for food, pubs and just stunning views. I'll definitely stay here again!

The room was exceptionally wonderful with all little details. The bathroom was another pleasant surprise. Next morning, breakfast seemed from a five star hotel with tons of options. This stay exceeded my expectation. Highly recommended this place with great hosts.

We liked everything - the cottage was super and knowing that the housekeeper was nearby if we needed anything was really great. The landscape is extraordinary and the people and the hospitality in Castletownbere and Eyeries are exceptional.

The B&B had gorgeous views and is a short walk from Castletownbere. They offered varieties of breakfast choices. I chose smoked salmon and eggs, which were very tasty.
