Made and his family are so happy and friendly. Made has a cheeky and funny sense of humour, he made us lol. Breakfast omelettes were great. We had a satay bbq and helped making dinner, it was enak (delicious) Rooms are new and clean, firm comfortable beds which we liked. Pool was always clean and refreshing Wifi worked well 24hrs Made took us on an all day tour to Sideman, La Montagne Cafe overlooking rice fields and Penglipuran Village, he was very patient and informative. There is no airconditioning but it’s cool and not needed even on the hottest day there. Highly recommended for a restful stop and interaction with local Balinese family.

The location and house is stunning - simple decor, panoramic views of the jungle from the roof, a beautiful entrance pathway and common area where I sat and ate breakfast or had a Bintang at night, and the feeling that you are really in a real Balinese home as soon as you step across the threshold. The room is spacious and airy and Made, May and family are very kind and welcoming. They went out of their way to look after me and show me their village. Made even arranged a visit to the local temple where I was lucky enough to attend a ceremony :) My time at Umah Saren will stay long in my memory.

Our stay at River Island was truly one of the best we’ve ever had. The place is absolutely stunning — complete peace and tranquility surrounded by lush rice fields and a flowing river. It felt like a hidden paradise where you can fully disconnect and breathe. The owner was incredibly helpful and attentive, going above and beyond anything we asked for. She assisted us with everything we needed and even offered more than we expected, making our experience unforgettable. We couldn’t recommend this place more. A perfect retreat in one of the most beautiful settings in Bali.

The location overlooking the Agung and the jungle is stunning, I have never seen anything like it before. Comfortable rooms and beds. Also, the staff go above and beyond to help, my friend got sick and they really helped and did everything they could and more. Highly recommended. Came for one day and stayed 2.

I had a truly wonderful stay here! The place is beautiful, very peaceful, and perfectly designed for a comfortable stay. The room was spotless, with a super comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom with hot water. What really makes this place special are the owners – they are absolutely delightful, incredibly kind, and always ready to help with anything you need. They gave me great tips about things to do in Sidemen and made me feel so welcome. I had an amazing night here and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for both comfort and genuine hospitality.
