The room and the hotel were very clean. The room was small but well-equipped (with a wardrobe, table, chair, kettle, double bed, and four pillows). The staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast included tea and a small snack every morning.

I actually don't know where to start first: - The overall super friendly, warm and helping staff. Every single one of them greets you with a genuine smile and a small chat. - Big and very clean room with a great fluffy bed, perfect shower, good AC and all amenities you would need. - Housekeeping staff (in our case Ana/Fiki) goes above and beyond to keep your room tidy every single day. The hotel is spick and span. - Chef helping my wife at the saturday night grill, explaining all the veggie dishes and making a special veggie pasta to make her happy. - Never seen such an extensive buffet breakfast with a lot of western options. All coffees are possible and made with a smile. - Large pool and very well equipped gym. Both areas are very clean at all times. - Helpful reception and door staff. Overall a great 4 night experience thanks to ALL the staff!

    Ranugunting is a good example of mixed semirural Javanese...

    Ranugunting is a good example of mixed semirural Javanese neighbourhood. The traffic on the main road (jalan raya) to Solo is fast and crazy but off that it is quiet. A (shrinking) percentage of blocks are paddy fields or vegetable plots. People are friendly and its not at all touristy. You can just hang out, and snack from regularly passing food sellers and kaki lima (mobile food carts). On the other hand it is very close to the famous and extraordinary Prambaban temples, so visitors are fully catered for there.
