This homestay on Besir island is ideally located near several interests spots in Raja Ampat. The place is calm, only two cabins on the water, connected to a village full of charm. The utilities are on the beach, near the owner's house. It's very clean and has everything required to answer basic needs. Regarding the rooms, mosquito net on the bed, fan, electricity at night, blankets, hammock, sunbed and basic furnitures. All the meals (included in the reservation) are served to your cabin, they vary and are prepared by an great cook! So everything is tasteful and good. No connection except if you get a SIM card on arrival at Sorong's airport but deconnection is great. It's easy to communicate with the owner who speaks well English (rare in Raja Ampat) and he tries his best for you to have the best stay possible. Him and his family are super nice and welcoming while respecting your privacy. I came with a friend and we stayed 3 full days, we had an amazing time there and we can only recommend this place. All the activities we've done through them were memorable, we had a lot of fun. Have a good holiday there!

Feri and his family were so welcoming. They could answer all our questions and point us in the right direction. Also nothing was too much trouble and they were really accommodating with us wanting to do excursions with limited notice. The views from the huts are stunning, it's nice to be able to walk to the local villages and the snorkelling from the homestay jetty is brilliant - we even saw a dugong!

Amazing!!!!! Uau, thank you Aron for having us in your piece of paradise. Amazing place, super comfortable bungalows on top of the water with a hammock. You can see baby black tip sharks from your bungalow passing by. They have a great spot for the sunset!! Food is ok and enough for everyone. We would like to thank Raya for the amazing experience with the mantas, he wanted to make sure we had the best experience and he was super nice!! Thank you Aron and Monde for the kindness and the music, it was such a cool bonus to hear you guys singing!! We will never forget the days we spend here!

We stayed a week at the truly fantastic Methos homestay! This place is beyond words incredible. The bungalows over the water are the best ones we’ve stayed at during our month long Raja Ampat travels. They are equiped with everything needed to make your stay as perfect as needed: shelves, hooks, potable water, a (big!) and soft mattress, plenty of power plugs, coffee, thee, a huge terras overlooking the ocean, directly facing the never ending sunset. Right in front, the housereef provides you with all the goods: even a pod of dolphins passed by one morning. The manta’s are only just a 10 minute boatride away. The food is fantastic and the staff so friendly. There is not a thing we could possibly say that didn’t exceed our expectations. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for sharing your extraordinary beautiful home with us. We can not wait until we’re back in your little piece of paradise! Big hugs to the team, to Methos, to Isac, Athus, Jonas, Occhi, Martijn, and all the others! You all made our stay with your beautiful smiling faces every morning! Until we meet again! We had a great stay at Shady Sea and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. The location is calm and quiet, with only two spacious bungalows right on the waterfront – perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. The bathroom facilities were spotless and well-maintained, which we really appreciated. It was also super easy to organise boat trips directly from the property. Overall, a fantastic experience!
