FAQs about hotels in Split

The Sunny Side of Croatia

Stunning Split stands proudly on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea, and due to its great climate is called the Mediterranean Flower. It features eclectic architecture, spectacular views and delicious cuisine.

Split is centred around the ancient Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian, a magnificent building constructed at the beginning of the 4th century AD and boasting limestone and marble towers, columns and courtyards. It lies in a bay decorated with white sails of yachts, as sailing is definitely Split’s big thing!

The city is full of architectural gems, one of which is St. Duje’s Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in the world, built in 305 AD and combining both Roman and Catholic influences. Nearby Varoš is a must-see, one of the city’s oldest parts, full of charming streets and beautiful houses.

Make sure you visit the Bačvice Beach and the Riva promenade, popular with locals and full of cafés and palm trees. While on the hunt for local specialities, try soparnik - wood-fired dough filled with vegetables - or local soda drinks Pipi and Orela.

So just pack your bags and head to Split Airport! Booking.com has plenty of sunny apartments, friendly guest houses and well-appointed hotels for your Split adventure.

beautiful and historic old town, full of small cafes and bars where the night vibe might me felt without a doubt! Marjan Hill and Park- you must go for walks there to relax and see amazing views of Split coastline.

Loved Split , we spent a week on the islands and finished with 3 days in Split before coming home. Loved walking the old town, be prepared for map reading and the maze of alleyways and quaint streets filled with restaurants and lovely individual shops. Spend an evening in the old palace square having a drink and listening to the musicians. Spent one day on a trip to Krka national park with the beautiful waterfalls and wine tasting in a local village trip. Worth a visit. Loved our trip to Split

Fabulous historical city with everything nearby.

Fabulous historical city with everything nearby. Ferry service to islands is easy. Highly recommend a walk up the Marian Steps to enjoy the incredible view. Quaint eateries and bars tucked down alleyways, Teak was outstanding in service and food. Promenade is nice but very crowded. Great market for fresh fruit & vege.

I learned about Diocletian for the first time.

I learned about Diocletian for the first time. Loved the statue - and the two centurions who posed for photographs with the visitors! It was interesting to learn that Diocletian resigned as Emperor, which made me think what a pity there are certain other heads of state who are staying in place today...

There are areas full of garbage.

There are areas full of garbage. We encountered locations where you could not stay to drink. Only if you have dinner. This is the first place where we encountered such a policy ... Everything is overpriced for the service. The people are rude. You need to move from their path, especially if they have a child. We will not revisit Croatia.

We stayed for eight night and it was right. Planning each excursion and tour and other sight. We felt it just right. And really love the city. The Gastronomy is a beaut and the Karlivacko Radler was our favourite even the cakes and we ate at Buffet Fife. Wonderful place and the Marina is just great to watch. We just managed to find the way round with the help of Split map as a guide. We enjoyed all day sailing to the Solta island and stayed at Stomorska for lunch and swimming. Also to Mostar in Bosnia.

Location was perfect. It is so close to the bus terminus. There's a short cut across the tracks which takes only 5 mins. It is walking distance to the old Town n the only sandy beach in Split. The room was clean n comfortable room. It was a lovely gesture by the host to leave water bottles for us in the room for the first day. Also, when we checked out, the host helped us with our luggage. He was so easily contactable. There was also a kettle n 2 cups in the room. Most hotels I stayed in Croatia didn't have.

A very good and spacious apartment, everything is available for a family with children to live for a long time. Easy access to the old town, the sea and the bus to the airport, shops nearby. The host told everything and suggested which are the most beautiful places to visit in Croatia. I will definitely recommend this accommodation to others, only the best reviews.

Our stay at Angelina’s apartment was a perfect choice. Angelina was a friendly and helpful host. The apartment is in a perfect location for the local beach and a walk into Croatia old town. The apartment itself was extremely spacious and very well equipped for everything that’s needed. I would definitely stay again and I would highly recommend a stay in Split.

A lovely home away from home which encouraged us to stay in Croatia longer than initially planned. Well located property, central to malls, riva, old town. Shops, pharmacy and restaurant a few steps away. The perfect base for a family or couple, with all the amenities needed to self cater. Free parking and a lift.

The area is great - it's picturesque and the building is tucked in amongst the local residents, so it felt more authentically Croatian than the touristy hotels. So close to the centre and the waterfront, and felt very safe to walk around at night.
