Hotel Villa Diana, hotel in Split

Hotel Villa Diana is a small family-run hotel situated in the centre of Split, vis-à-vis 'Koteks skyscraper’ towards Split's ferry port.

The location is excellent . It’s 5 min walk to Split historic centre, the town’s pedestrian zone with its attractions and shops and seafront/harbour promenade with its many restaurants. However the hotel (Villa Diana ) has no lift and so there are many stairs to climb even to reach reception and many more stairs to reach the top floor. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, waited for my late evening arrival and a young man carried my suitcase up to the top floor and carried it downstairs on check out. The hotel lies on a main road so is very noisy (my room was on the road) if the windows are open. Fortunately the windows have double glazing and there is air conditioning so the windows can be closed and one then doesn’t hear the heavy traffic. Good WiFi in room. Clean room that is beautifully decorated. Bathroom adequate size with excellent shower. A small fridge and a kettle for making tea/coffee made my stay very pleasant. The breakfast is copious: the variety of food on offer great. The price of the hotel including breakfast is good value for money if one is fit enough to climb stairs and carry luggage.

Hotel Adriana, hotel in Split

The 3-star Hotel Adriana is located on the Riva, Split’s beautiful beachfront, and just 3 minutes’ walk from the Diocletian’s Palace.

The location of the hotel is fabulous on the pedestrian seaside Obala with nice view to the port and yachts, green area of Marjan hill. Behind the hotel also pedestrian streets lead to UNESCO heritage old town with uncountable monuments, shops, restaurants, etc. The staff of the hotel was friendly and careful, the breakfast was excellent and nice bars worked inside and outside.

FAQs about hotels in Split

The Sunny Side of Croatia

Stunning Split stands proudly on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea, and due to its great climate is called the Mediterranean Flower. It features eclectic architecture, spectacular views and delicious cuisine.

Split is centred around the ancient Roman Palace of the Emperor Diocletian, a magnificent building constructed at the beginning of the 4th century AD and boasting limestone and marble towers, columns and courtyards. It lies in a bay decorated with white sails of yachts, as sailing is definitely Split’s big thing!

The city is full of architectural gems, one of which is St. Duje’s Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in the world, built in 305 AD and combining both Roman and Catholic influences. Nearby Varoš is a must-see, one of the city’s oldest parts, full of charming streets and beautiful houses.

Make sure you visit the Bačvice Beach and the Riva promenade, popular with locals and full of cafés and palm trees. While on the hunt for local specialities, try soparnik - wood-fired dough filled with vegetables - or local soda drinks Pipi and Orela.

So just pack your bags and head to Split Airport! Booking.com has plenty of sunny apartments, friendly guest houses and well-appointed hotels for your Split adventure.

Split is a beautiful city that is very popular with tourists. The days when cruise ships arrive, the city triples in size making it very difficult to enjoy. The old city has a lot of history, it’s quaint and charming that has a good infrastructure to handle the crowds. I can’t imagine the city during high season.

Split oldtown is very beautiful and easy to explore on foot.

Split oldtown is very beautiful and easy to explore on foot. The ancient Roman palace was wonderful and I would recommend taking a tour to gain historical knowledge. We joined a free walking tour (this didn't include tickets to the lower level but we explored this ourselves after the tour). Each of our group gave our guide a contribution at the end of the tour. There is a great selection of restaurants and bistros in Split. We took the airport shuttle bus from and to the airport which cost Euro 8 pp per trip.

We had just spent 3 days in Dubrovnik before coming here (Dubrovnik was lovely,) I wasn't that crazy about Split in comparison, pretty dirty, graffiti on every wall you could see around the city and surrounding areas, did a city tour and was not impressed with what they had to show us, It was raining so that didn't help matters People were friendly enough

Getting euros. The atms in the tourist area charge between 3% and 6%. The post office counteris no charge. Get out of the tourist area and prices for food and drink are a third to half the price. Highest prices and worst service in the area by the private yachts.

    Loved Split.

Loved Split. It was a great point to travel to the islands of Hvar and Brac. The old town is very beautiful. We stayed near Znjan Beach but construction is happening and it is causing chaos. Split was not too busy when we visited. It was not too hot. There are many attractions to see in Split and you can get to Mostar Bosnia via Split. All round Split is a great location to spend your next vacation.

This apartment is a true gem in Split. We loved how spacious and clean it was. Moreover, it is equipped with everything you might need for your stay. The position is lovely, in the heart of the old town and close to the port. I truly loved the small church in front of the apartment; it made it very characteristic. A special mention to the host, who was always available for our requests or needs. I genuinely hope to be back someday to experience more of Croatia and the kindness of the host of Bernard's apartment.

The room was really quiet despite the fact that there were 22 beds which worried me but it felt like a two bed room. The hostel is very clean (bathroom, kitchen, reception and everything). The girl at the reception spoke very good english and she was super friendly and welcoming! We also met really nice people at the reception so i generally had an excellent experience with the hostel and it is budget friendly. All in all, i’d definitely book again if i ever come to Croatia, split!

Perfect location right in the centre of the old town. Apartment Mila was beautifully clean, very comfortable and well equipt. Ivana the host is lovely and was always easily contactable and ready to help with anything. We had a wonderful relaxing 10 day stay in Old Town Split and Apartment Mila was great and exactly like the photos show, we couldn't of asked for anything better for the money. Would definitely recommend it and if we do come back to Croatia again we will stay here. 😊

The room is just in the middle of the main attraction of Split. Room is well decorated with modern furnitures and the bathroom is much bigger than any of the 5 star hotels of Europe. Best part is the assistance of Srdjan, who went out of his way to help me not only at Split but throughout Croatia. He helped me to book the bus tickets, ferry tickets to Brac, hiring cars, restaurants and what not. He is the best. Would recommend Miravel and Srdjan to all.

Parking was free and a representative from the hotel met us and transported us via golf cart. The breakfast was wonderful, with many cold selections as well as special orders from the kitchen. It has everything we needed in the room, and nice Seaview. About 7 mins walk to the old town , lots of restaurants, bars and shops. There's a supermarket down the road and a bakery off the other side of the road about 2 mins walk. The only downside is that the noise from the wind and rain gets really loud in the morning, and this kind of weather is really rare in May in Croatia
