The Pearl of the Adriatic

A medieval beauty full of magnificence and glory, Dubrovnik is surrounded by white stone walls. Located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, this masterpiece is one of the most promising tourist destinations.

Passing through the imposing stone gate of Pile Gate, you will find yourself immersed in history. Take a walk in the narrow streets of this charming city, enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the colourful cafés, or order fresh fish in one of the outdoor restaurants.

The city’s cable car will take you up to Mount Srd from where you can savour panoramic views over the treasures of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Dubrovnik is without a doubt an absolutely beautiful city.

Dubrovnik is without a doubt an absolutely beautiful city. I’ve put 4 stars and the only reason is the town itself is just full of souvenir shops and over priced restaurants. Two days is definitely enough, but for the experience of seeing this gorgeous old city and the architecture it’s worth a visit. It runs rings around Split as a destination.

We paid for the old city wall walk.

We paid for the old city wall walk. We were first on the wall in the morning. Best time as so few people were there. Lovely cafe with views and great coffee about halfway along. Lots of ferry options to see the islands. The old city is not that big to very easy to walk around. Lots of tour options. Funicular is probably not worth it. Better to take a tour up and back - long steep walk back with u-turn stair back down - good for mountain goats. The buses there are irregular times and only go part way. They end mid-afternoon in the fall. If you miss the last one you have to walk back, which happened to us. We took a day trip to Kravice Falls (lovely even though it was October and Mostel (very touristy) but still worth it. We took a small group tour (max 8) from Dubrovnik and the drive along the Dalmatian coast was spectacular.

We were fortunate to be in Dubrovnik in October when there were less tourists but the weather was still perfect - warm and sunny. It is a lovely city with a very nice area surrounding the old city itself. Wonderful sea views, a nice marina and lots of choice for food We would even recommend the Yugoslavia under Communism museum, which was especially interesting for us as we had last been in Yugoslavia 30 years ago under communism

Buy a Dubrovnik pass.

Buy a Dubrovnik pass. If you pay separately it will cost you a small fortune. Get up early, and go out when the majority of tourists have gone, a different vibe altogether. Book a free walking tour on your first opportunity they show you the best places to go. Visit Lokrum Island, a must visit, out of the way oasis, however use your Dubrovnik pass for discount on the ferry, if not it will cost alot more ( discount not advertised). Visit Revalin fort again Inc in Dubrovnik pass. Dubrovnik should be on Everybody's bucket list, it won't disappoint.

The apartment is luxury jewellery with perfect location. Bus stop is literally next to the front door and for just 5 minutes you could be in the heart of the old town. Everything is brand new, sparkling clean and super comfortable - It’s like you’re staying in 5 stars hotel but with the benefits of having fully equipped kitchen and getting precious hints for your stay from Ivo. He is amazing host answering all my questions and always available - I wish all of hosts were like him!

We absolutely loved our time at Valamar Tirena Hotel! The room was modern, clean, and very comfortable. The pool area was beautiful and relaxing, and the breakfast buffet was outstanding – so many fresh and tasty options. The location is great: peaceful, yet just a short bus ride from Dubrovnik’s Old Town. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be coming back – highly recommended!

Lovely warm welcome from owners who live above the property. Apartment big and spacious with everything that you may need available. Location a few metres from the sea, the 5 star Hotel Rexos next door. A walk of about 25mins to old town. Kitchen was well equipped with a few essentials like pepper and salt, oil were supplied. We walked to old town and ubered back at the cost of 8 euros as its quite an uphill back.

Lovely location, very peaceful. Lovely big room, very comfortable. An easy walk to the beach, and an easy bus ride to the old town(so quick and easy). Really welcoming staff. And what a bonus to be able to also enjoy the 5* luxury of Hotel More facilities!
