Cleanliness, location (easy to get to cruises etc), the view, breakfast buffet- but most of all the staff. All were exceptional, especially the breakfast ladies who were always so welcoming and friendly. Also the lovely young pregnant lady at reception (sorry, we didn’t get her name) Nothing seemed to be ‘too much’ for anyone.

FAQs about hotels in Dubrovnik

The Pearl of the Adriatic

A medieval beauty full of magnificence and glory, Dubrovnik is surrounded by white stone walls. Located on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, this masterpiece is one of the most promising tourist destinations.

Passing through the imposing stone gate of Pile Gate, you will find yourself immersed in history. Take a walk in the narrow streets of this charming city, enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the colourful cafés, or order fresh fish in one of the outdoor restaurants.

Surrounded by turquoise waters, Dubrovnik Old Town sights include the picturesque Stradun, Onofrio fountain and the Franciscan monastery.

The city’s cable car will take you up to Mount Srd from where you can savour panoramic views over the treasures of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Buses connect Dubrovnik Airport with the city centre, and Booking.com offers a variety of hotels, apartments, and guest houses throughout.

    A wonderful historic walled city.

A wonderful historic walled city. The food, the weather and the sights were all worth visiting. We loved Lady Pi-Pi restaurant for the good value BBQ food. Make sure you walk the city walls, take a boat trip to the islands and have a drink in one of the bars (Buza) outside of the walls where you can take a dip in the sea!

    It's an expensive city.

It's an expensive city. There's no information to get around with Google Maps, so most of the time you have to see information at the bus stop on how you will be going. Take an activity kayaking tour; it's my highlight, or visit Lokrum Island if you are bored with the Old Town.

The old town is a must as is walking the walls - Dubrovnik pass recommended at £40 Its on your phone in advance, includes bus travel and many other museums/attractions in the city which is good value when walls alone are £40. Do some kind of boat trip if you like the sea - did a speed boat tri to 3 islands with deep sea/cave swimming and one sandy beach - there are very few of those in the Dubrovnik area. Most are rocky and shingly. People are lovely - kind and helpful and the bus system excellent.

Very busy, I’d only buy the discovery pass for 1 day and get in to do as much as possible. I personally would have hated 3 days in the old town as it was too hot and too busy. I spent first afternoon on a guided walk to get my bearings and the next day walking the walks, doing the museums and then a trip to Cavat (spent 2 hours there which was enough to walk around the headland, through the town, have a coffee and ice cream). Day 3 (2nd full day)trip to Mostar and waterfalls. Spent the next morning (day 4) walking around the port headland before a ferry trip mid afternoon to the Mijet for 2 nights. If I’d had another day/night in Dubrovnik I’d have got a boat trips out to the smaller islands. I found Dubrovnik more expensive than other places in Croatia.

The Villa was beautiful and so close to the entrance into the old town. It really was the perfect location for anything we wanted to do during our stay in the city. Our host, Matea, couldn’t have been more helpful or responsive. She checked in regularly and was responsive to all our needs and questions. I can’t imagine a better place to stay with a large group.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when looking at the views of the town from different angles—especially from Fort Lovrijenac, which looked like a painting. We were two couples and got the three-day ticket to visit most of the attractions, which was definitely worth it. We also took a 4-hour private boat tour, which was amazing. The skipper took us wherever we wanted to go and shared many interesting stories about the town. Another highlight was the cable car, which gave us even more astonishing views of the Old Town. We ended up eating at three restaurants that were “sister” restaurants, each offering the best views, spectacular service, and delicious food. We had three full days there, and I think it was absolutely worth it to stay inside the Old Town—everything was so accessible. We even managed to enjoy the beach on our last afternoon. I only wish we could have stayed one more day to take another tour to one of the nearby countries, like Montenegro. Dubrovnik was unforgettable!

Small hotel (only five rooms) right in the heart of Dubrovnik. In an old building but very well maintained. We had a spacious executive suite on the top floor of the building with a view of the old town. The hotel does not have a 24/7 reception, but the helpful staff was already waiting for our arrival. The hotel does not offer breakfast, but there is a wide selection of breakfast places in the surrounding area. It should be noted that there are 35 stairs from the street to the hotel and another 50 inside the hotel. Definitely recommend.

Gorgeous room, stunning balcony view, plenty of choice at breakfast, great location in Lapad - only a 10 min walk to the number 6 bus stop for easy access into Old Town. €35 euro Uber to the airport. This hotel offers all the amenities we needed to fully enjoy our stay. The breakfast was outstanding, with a particularly impressive selection of fresh fruits. The location is ideal—situated right on the seafront with direct beach access, and only a 15-minute bus ride from Dubrovnik’s historic Old Town. Solid 5 star (-ish) hotel in Dubrovnik. Excellent position, spotless rooms, very kind staff (very refreshing considering that generally in Croatia service are quite grumpy), nice wellness area (although at some time of the day the pool area needs more supervision and tidying up), nice breakfast. Definitely one of the best options to stay in Dubrovnik.
