Loved that the hotel is super traditional and offers temazcal, a very authentic Guatemalan sauna experience. Staff were great organizing a guide for a sunrise hike up to the Mayan nose viewpoint. They were also super accommodating about having to change dates twice. Really enjoyed their typical Guatemalan breakfast as well.

Mayachik is close to nature with a very rustic setup in the wilderness and a short walk to the town. If you are all about sustainable living and travel, this place is for you! Their dry toilets are quite an experience. Morning Yoga at the Yoga platform and the Sauna were my favourite parts of my stay. Their restaurant food is generous and yummy! Don’t forget to try the tamales and paches, which in my opinion are the most underrated food on their menu. The staff are the loveliest and the most helpful people you will meet. If like me you are a digital nomad, the internet is pretty decent.

What an amazing view! A lovely quiet and relaxing hotel within walking distance of San Juan and short tuk tuk ride to San Pedro. Great to be away from the noise. the staff were lovely and helpful, great breakfast and beautiful gardens

Very friendly staff! Allowed us to check out late and leave our luggage whilst we explored. We then missed our boat to Panajachel and they let us stay an extra night with no hassle. Very comfy mattress, good wifi and super clean

One of the greatest hostels ever. Super helpful and nice Gerson and Carlos. Perfect starting point to the lake and one day trips to other villages. Perfect for chillingout. Energy and atmosphere that I can't describe. You can swim and do water activities. It's a very quiet place. Go there and don't look further no matter if you travel alone or not. I'm so impressed. It's simple but very clean and you have everything you may need.👌😎🤯 Actually I left and had to go back for at least on more night. Thank you guys.

The staff are wonderful - so friendly and welcoming. The rooms and facilities are excellent (spacious, clean and tidy), fully-equipped kitchen, complementary coffee and towels, really comfortable beds.

    We were a group of six over 55's off on a great adventure.

    We were a group of six over 55's off on a great adventure. San Juan la laguna gave us so many things to do and see. we hired a local guide to talk to us about the spectacular murals and artist in town. we hiked the mirador. toured a honey farm. enjoyed serval meals. One that stands out was the Cafe Alma De Colores. it promotes social inclusion of people with disabilities. they also have a wonderful gift shop, with handcrafted items that support this population. visiting the street of sombras and the steert of umberellas. Lovely community . friendly warm and welcoming.

    Such a cute town, I wish I had more time to explore because...

    Such a cute town, I wish I had more time to explore because some places were closed on the weekends. It's very close to the party life in San Pedro but much more chill so you can go back to sleep and hang in peace, which I preferred.
