La Isla Dulce is the best accommodation we've ever stayed at. It lacked nothing! Everything was built with such attention to detail. The food was delicious (very good quality!!), our room was a dream and the couple Darja & Douglas and the other staff were as warm and helpful as you rarely see. We had the best shower here and everything was clean and comfortable. Our stay was the perfect end to an incredibly wonderful trip. We would have loved to stay longer, as it felt like a spa retreat. Thank you for everything!

The best reason for staying here is the manager, Giovanni. He is a bilingual jewel. Great with arranging trips up the Rio Dulce but even more describing the history of the area.

The hotel is run by Gershon, Martha, and Ingrid. They are really friendly and help you when you need anything. They are the only locals who run a hotel there, all other hotels are run by foreigners or from the city, personally it made the experience better The food is good and portions big. The room is big and had WiFi, the beds are comfortable. The hotel is basic, but you are in the jungle. The problem with te toiletseats will be solved soon 😉 The hotel is located at the Rio dulce River and you can enjoy the sunset at the hotel or just take one of the kayaks.. Julio was lovely and the place is as shown. A lovely basic homestay in the middle of nowhere. We were basically the only people staying when we came which was lovely but I can imagine it could feel crowded if it was busy. There's a small shop 2 mins walk through the jungle where you can buy staples but only occasionally has fruit/veg. You're in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do apart from admiring the beauty around you, perfect for what we wanted but don't expect lots to do! Can go swimming in the river.
