The whole experience was next level. The accommodation was a dream, the staff was superb, and the meals were unbelievably delicious and hearty. Booked only for one night, so next time, I will also take some of the great tours they offer (e.g., the sunrise kayak tour or a hike to the waterfalls nearby). I warmly recommend this place!

La Isla Dulce is the best accommodation we've ever stayed at. It lacked nothing! Everything was built with such attention to detail. The food was delicious (very good quality!!), our room was a dream and the couple Darja & Douglas and the other staff were as warm and helpful as you rarely see. We had the best shower here and everything was clean and comfortable. Our stay was the perfect end to an incredibly wonderful trip. We would have loved to stay longer, as it felt like a spa retreat. Thank you for everything!

An amazing hostel located up the Rio Finca which flows into the Rio Dulce. Having stayed at another lovely hostel close to the town of Rio Dulce, I would say this end of the river is more beautiful and unspoilt. You can take kayaks out and explore the little mangrove creeks near the hostel or venture as far afield as the Biotopo nature reserve. So many suggestions of fun and interesting things to do you could easily spend a week here!

With Ribera Rio Dulce Beach reachable in a few steps, Casa Maya provides accommodation, a restaurant, a garden, a private beach area and a bar. Free WiFi is provided.

The hotel is run by Gershon, Martha, and Ingrid. They are really friendly and help you when you need anything. They are the only locals who run a hotel there, all other hotels are run by foreigners or from the city, personally it made the experience better The food is good and portions big. The room is big and had WiFi, the beds are comfortable. The hotel is basic, but you are in the jungle. The problem with te toiletseats will be solved soon 😉 The hotel is located at the Rio dulce River and you can enjoy the sunset at the hotel or just take one of the kayaks.. Great place, in the middle of the nature directly at the river. The guys working there were absolutely great! The dinner for 80 Quetzales was great! Super chilled atmosphere and super cute dogs :)

Julio was lovely and the place is as shown. A lovely basic homestay in the middle of nowhere. We were basically the only people staying when we came which was lovely but I can imagine it could feel crowded if it was busy. There's a small shop 2 mins walk through the jungle where you can buy staples but only occasionally has fruit/veg. You're in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do apart from admiring the beauty around you, perfect for what we wanted but don't expect lots to do! Can go swimming in the river.

In the Rio Dulce river near a 16th century castle the Tortugal Boutique River Lodge peninsula is bathed by almost constant on shore breezes providing a cool and refreshing place.

The place is very nice, surrounded by nature. The staff was so nice!!! and they make you feel like at home! They are very flexible and helpful!! The breakfast and the menu in general is amazing!!, really nice food!

Great service from Javier and Enrique. Also all other employees were working with a smile and happy to help you with any kind of questions. We also received a nice tour through the beautiful garden. Easy to reach via whatsapp for any questions like boat pick-ups and happy to give tips for traveling. 5 star service! Rooms are clean and comfortable with great beds and it is a beautiful place.

Situated in Rio Dulce, 5.5 km from Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, Hotel Real del Rio features views of the pool.

Great shower! Hot water and good water pressure. We arrived at 1 in the morning and check in was no problem. We even got cold bottled water. Beds were very comfy. Didn't use the pool but looked nice.
