Fantastic apartment by the sea and big balcony that you can use almost the whole day in shade. Perfectly clean. Host is always around to help. In the corner of this small street there is great restaurant and coctail bar aswell as grocery shop. There is a restaurant by the apartment building too. Compact but lively resort, good selection of bars, restaurants and shops, would suit families with young and older children. Several small supermarkets in town centre ideal for stocking up the apartment, no need to get in the car. Within easy reach of the airport and attractions further afield.

We went during school holidays so it was pretty busy but the tourist high street was quiet during the day while everyone was on the beach. The food was excellent. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. The beach bars were also good. The Cretans were very friendly and helpful. Crete has plenty of interesting sites to visit both inland and on the coast. We would happily return.

Plataniás is bustling - very busy full of shops (which are great) and restaurants. There are, unfortunately, too many places serving chips with everything! We wish there had been some more options, i.e. rice, authentic Cretan dishes, taverna based meals, but it is what it is. There was no need for a car - most places were walkable. Our villa was amazing, but we would not return to Plataniás - it seemed to have dropped down a notch since our trip last year. We saw quite a few young (and older) men walking around shirtless and some girls dressed quite inappropriately. I'm not a prude, but it made the area far less salubrious than it should be.

I don't usually like touristy places but Platanias had a lovely feel about it. Not too many people, although this may have been because we went in September. We visited the War Museum - definitely worth it. Also went to John the Hermit cave and monastery at Kissimo which were unbelievable. Beach was great and snorkeling trip fantastic and well looked after.

Touristy beach town extending along one road with lots and lots of restaurants, bars, hotels etc. lovely to get away from the road onto the beach. Beach was calmer and more relaxed away from the town centre.

Mylos hotel is in the central part of Platanias, close to restaurants, supermarkets and, in particular, it is connected with a truly excellent equipped beach. The apartment was absolutely nice, but what really makes the difference at Mylos Hotel is its receptionist Maria. She is a young, very professional employee, always ready to satisfy any type of request in a very short time and always with a smile on her face. I have no doubt that, if I were to return to Crete in the future, I will choose Mylos hotel again, hoping to find Maria too.

The hotel was in a beautiful location, surrounded by nature, only 10-12 minutes walk to center of Platanias (15+ minutes walking back as it is a bit uphill lol). The room was spotless clean, had everything you might of needed and they all seemed new, very friendly host and 3 friendly cats that would keep you company while you were eating on the table outside your room. I definitely recommend this hotel

The view is unreal, the property is luxurious clean. The hosts Kiki and her husband Errikos will go out of their way in order to make your experience unforgettable. The part of the town that the villa is built is quiet and you can relax with privacy but at the same time you are a 5 min walk away from all amenities. If you want to have an amazing stay in Crete I would highly recommend that property.

The facilities of the hotel were super nice and very much convenient. What made our stay at the hotel even better, was the excellent service of the hotel employees. Nikos and Stelios at the beach bar, were excellent at their job and I had amazing cocktails at the reception bar from Panagiotis. The location of the hotel is nice, only 20 mins drive from Chania. Many options for food in Platanias.
