We first stayed here three years ago, just the two of us before our son was born, and it was absolutely wonderful. So when we decided to return to Crete this year, this place was an obvious choice — and just like back then, we were more than satisfied this time as well. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and everyone here is incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. You truly feel at home. We had breakfast (15€/person), which was already great three years ago, but this time it was even better — a wide variety that has something for everyone. The beach is just a few minutes from the hotel and it's truly stunning — long and spacious. We’ll definitely come back again someday. If I had to mention one small thing, it would be this: it would be great to have a “Do Not Disturb” sign for the room. The cleaning schedule isn’t always at the same time every day, and sometimes when you just want a quiet moment, a sign like that would be helpful. But that’s honestly just a small detail — maybe even a little inspiration for a minor improvement at what is otherwise an absolutely fantastic place. We can fully and sincerely recommend it to anyone. On top of that, our journey here was quite complicated, so we had to cancel the arranged airport transfer and reschedule it for another day. Due to a change in our return flight, we also needed to stay an extra night — and again, nothing was ever a problem. So with this review, we’d like to thank the entire team for a truly wonderful holiday

The apartment was exactly as described and as you can see in the pictures: modern, clean, with everything you need to sleep well, cook, relax, feel at home. Theodoros, the host, is very very helpful and friendly. It was reassuring to know he was available to give local advice or deal with any problems (we didn't have any problems though). The apartment really does have everything you may need: towels, hairdryer, iron for clothes, kitchen, cooking utensils, fridge, a drying rack that dries your clothes in the balconay overnight. The balcony is big, it has a nice table and chairs; the apartment has curtains and shutters if you want a dark room at night; the aircon works very well, the sound isolation is excellent. We slept very well as the mattress and pillows are great, we have only good things to say, we loved it. Plus, the location is great with many tavernas nearby, a supermarket and of course, a short walk to the beach!

This hotel's location is perfect! It's a short drive away from old town Rethymno, walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and Lidls! The unit is very spacious; we enjoyed cooking our meals and relaxing on the balcony. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We originally booked a 2-night stay but extended it to 4 nights since we loved the place so much. Highly recommended!

Me and my family spent a few days there, since we wanted to travel a bit more this year and explore the islad. WE ARE INLOVED WITH THIS PLACE!!! Te apartments are for sure the best I have seen so far. Beach is 2 min walking distance, so it is perfect if you are with kids. 5 min walking in the opposite direction is the main street with shops and restaurants. The athmosphere in the that place is just magical, the rooms are huge and sooo clean. The balkoni is just perfect with plenty of space for our kids to run around.There is also a washing machine, whitch is just so thoughtful and convinient. This is the place to be when you are with family. We will for sure visit again next year!!!

I really like Platanes, it's not too far from the busy Rethymno centre and slightly more relaxed than being near the main areas, but still has nice restaurants and beach bars etc. and good access to main roads etc. if you like to get out and adventure without getting stuck in congestion, which can sometime be found neare to centre.

Tourist destination, really close to the main city of Rethimno, without the hustle and bustle of the city. And with plenty of car parking! Really nice for summer holidays, having the beach near and everything somenone may need, such as mini markets, breakfast cafés, souvenir shops.

It is typical resort town, with lots of shops, grocery supermarket, taverns, also there is a good drugstore. The downsides are very narrow sidewalks and crazy motorcyclists day and night, like everywhere in Greece.

An excellant resort with wide choice of tavernas and bars to suit all pockets. Lots of tourist shops , car rentals and excursions available The beaches are easily accessible and pool bars are plentiful and free to use if you buy drinks/food. It’s a very friendly resort great for families as many places have child pools or playing areas Everywhere is easily accessible on foot but there is a good regular bus service or car hire is easy to arrange

Lovely town and not changed too much over the years I have been visiting. Lots of restaurants, tour companies and souvenir shops. Good bus service into Rethymno. Beach is a bit stony, so beach shoes were required. Plenty of water activities for the kids (and adults) on the beach

This was the second time my wife and I have been to Platanes. We went for the first time a few years ago and thought it was about time we went back. We enjoyed our visit then but this visit was even better. There is a variety of accommodation available from luxury 5 stars hotels to small apartments and a great variety in between. Many residences have pools but there are golden beaches within a short distance of the main strip and many have tavernas and bars. The main strip has many places to eat and drink and prices are very reasonable. Crete has a great cultural heritage and there are plenty of trips which can be taken. The weather was wall to wall sunshine

The two well maintained swimming pools, proximity to the beach and lots of sun loungers, hotel excellent breakfast 7-10am, good bar/lunch food (kids loved it), very close to a good sized super market, Finiko’s restaurant (opposite the hotel) but the hotel’s inclusive dinners looked really good, kids liked the slushies. Maria was so lovely. Such a child friendly hotel. They provide washing up liquid and sponge, pots and pans etc, enough to cook if you need too. Free parking.

I had a wonderful stay at Pinelopi Hotel. Pinelopi, her family, and the staff are truly warm and helpful, which made me feel very welcome. I stayed in a room with a private jacuzzi, and it was absolutely amazing. The hotel also has a nice pool, and both the beach and several great restaurants are within walking distance. I would highly recommend staying at Pinelopi to anyone visiting Crete!

Everything ! From the pool , the location to the staff that was very kind! We enjoyed our stay at Mary Hotel! There is small bar with very fair price and a nice bartender. Two swimming pool are available and 1 small for kids. The beach is at 2 min by foot ! The hotel is in the suburb of rethymno so do not expect the crowd that is in Rethymno centre

The hotel was well laid out and well look after. The owner was super helpful and the breakfast was very good. The position is great as its a walk away from the main strip of restuarants. The prices at the restuarants were the lowest in Crete and the owners/families exceptionaly friendly. We will be back for sure.
