One of the best cities we have visitted in Peloponnese, the main reason being the amazing scenic beaches that are located quite close. The main Pylos square beatiful and it takes you back in time with the tall trees and the vibrant atmosphere. You can rent a boat if you know how to drive one, take organised cruises from Pylos or Gialova and visit Methoni, Foinikounta, and other amazing little cities around. Lovely town square lined with cafes and shops with the harbour on one side. Hilly and gorgeous views of the islands surrounding the large harbour. Lovely little seaside town perfect for a couple of days to visit nearby sites, great restaurants and excellent swimming. No real beach but sea was great, very clean and safe. Buses fine for Kalamata and connections from there, limited otherwise but taxis available.Guest review byChloe - 10.0

We were there to visit an archaeological site. There are wonderful Midevil castles (Kastro in Pylos, Methoni castle, Palace of Nestor. The new museum in the Pylos Kastro is great. We only stayed the one night on a road trip around the Peloponnese. However, Pylos had plenty of cafes and some amazing beaches either side that we would have loved to explore if we had more time. We had an awesome experience at MPAHALOGATOS CAFE & LOCAL PRODUCTS. It's a street off the main square so it doesn't get the same foot traffic but our experience there was amazing nonetheless. Pylos is a beautiful quiet town overlooking the incredible beauty of Navarino Bay. When we stepped into the flat a small bag and a welcome drink was waiting us on the table. The small bag included local snacks and a gift plate written on it Pylos. ❤️ Our neighbour Dimitra the sweetest lady in the world, she speaks just greek but she helped us in everything she could to make our stay perfect!
