Everything, especially the breakfast. This place is a true gem in Meteora, super comfortable and with an amazing service. Parking for motorcycles was plenty and very easy. The staff and the owner were amazing, and gave me several tips about where to go with the motorcycle around Meteora.

Wow, where do I start? Kastraki was an excellent choice as opposed to Kalabaka because it's a small village and not a town. Kalabaka is a few minutes drive so everything was accessible++, but it was great to be in a quiet place. Theofania's house is locate just above the "main square" and the front of the building is the allocated parking spot. Couldn't be closer to the door unless we parked inside the apartment. The key was waiting for us in a lockbox next to the door (it's also where we left it) and the Wi-Fi was solid Next - the apartment was extremely comfortable for us with two kids. It was the first time they had their own room during the trip, and that was nice. The living room was comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped. The shower is new and very comfortable and having a washing machine available is always a nice touch for those in need. it really felt like home. As such and not as a hotel, you have to get your own food, but that is extremely simple with a small grocery store a spitting distance from the door, next to the square. What's around - everything: 1. The mini-market + a couple of taverns we didn't try are both 50 meters away 2. A small playground in the square for the kids that need to run around 3. Just next door is a new Coffee/Bar called Cafe Mikio - excellent coffee and light food and snacks. The coolest place around for sure 4. For those interested in Meteora's Geology - The main building next to the square is a nice museum, that tell the story of the rock formations - recommended if you can spare the time 5. Two minutes walking and you reach another street with additional hotels, tavernas and art studios ...all that and I didn't say a word about Kalabaka. Supermarket, stores, restaurants...even a proper Pizza place that my kids were craving (look for Santa Lucia Pizza).

Location was perfect and it was very well presented. Great attention to detail throughout and very stylish with modern facilities. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. We have travelled throughout Europe for the last few months and these were the kindest hosts we have experienced. Highly recommend this property.

Loved the little kitchenette and appliances- perfect for us as we were travelling with two small children. George, the host, was very friendly. Location was great and walking distance from lots of restaurants. Amazing view of the rocks from the windows. Would definitely stay there again

A magical area of Greece worth spending 2 - 3 full days or more. The Monestaries, the Hermit Caves, Prehistoric Theopetra Cave, the early Greek Orthodox Churches, such as the byzantine church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary , and the Hellenistic and Roman ruins - are all worth spending the time to visit and learn more about them.

Kastraki the town was not welcoming at all.

Kastraki the town was not welcoming at all. It seems that they hate tourists. Very rude waiters and restaurant/cafe owners. We stopped at 3 different places-all with the same unwelcoming, rude, mean attitude. With the exception of Pub38-where the owner was excellent to us and where we eventually ate dinner after leaving from another taverna up the street where we were treated rudely. The hotel we stayed at was fine. It was just the town businesses, which is a shame because the monasteries and scenery is gorgeous. We visited the monasteries and took our pictures and left a day early. Went to Nafplio instead where every cafe, restaurant, business was wonderfully welcoming and lovely to us and showed us the Greek hospitality that we were hoping for in Kastraki. Unfortunately it didn’t happen for us in Kastraki. They need to learn how to treat the visitors.

Peaceful little greek village on the way to the monasteries.

Peaceful little greek village on the way to the monasteries. The local bus that stops by every monastery stops by the church and is the cheapest way to visit them. People there are very nice and helpful.

I stayed here for two nights and could have used a third.

I stayed here for two nights and could have used a third. I recommend going to the Grand Meteora Monstery as it is the oldest and largest. Go early when it opens up at 9:30 am to beat any crowds. I visited St. Stephans Monastery and you don't have to walk stairs there but they get big crowds in the afternoon with bus tours. I would recommend buying your groceries at Lidl which is on the main road int town. There are tours by bus or train from Athens but it is more convenient to rent a car.

Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The small village of Kastraki is nestled in the middle of the limestone formations dominated by the famous monasteries. Numerous paths depart from Kastraki where you can go on beautiful excursions. In the village there are numerous inns where you can eat excellent traditional dishes at reasonable prices.

I can't say anything about the city of Kastraki, as I didn't walk around the city. We came to see Meteora. I can say one thing - the apartments have a beautiful view of Meteora. Good location, not far from the main road. We had breakfast in the apartments, where we prepared breakfast for ourselves. Driving through Kastraki was not difficult, there are serpentines in the direction of Meteora, but the views are incredible...
