FAQs about hotels in Athens

A Dynamic City with 3400 Years of History

With the Acropolis as the jewel in the archaeological crown of Athens, this city is full of history whilst embracing the future. Take a stroll back in time through the neoclassical streets of the Plaka, where you will find tavernas serving tantalising souvlaki and mousaka, street vendors and live entertainment.

A trip to the Parthenon and the Agora top most lists and can also be appreciated from a distance by walking along the Dionysiou Aeropagitou street, which is away from the busy crowds downtown.

Changing the guard occurs every hour on the famous Syntagma Square. From here Ermou Street provides shopaholics with a fashionable retail sanctuary. The up-market districts of Kolonaki and Kifisia are also bursting with fancy boutiques, galleries and bars.

Athens contains some of the finest museums in the world such as the National Archaeological, Acropolis and Benaki Museums. From Athens International Airport to the Port of Piraeus, this is a city bustling with the old and new. On Booking.com you can find everything from modern hotels to a room in a classical building.

Lots to do and see, would recommend the tour bus.

Lots to do and see, would recommend the tour bus. Acropolis was amazing, worth the climb, beautiful views. Changing of the Guard was interesting. Beautiful National Gardens and surrounding areas. Good variety of food available. lots of little streets to go down and shops to pop in and browse. Would recommend wearing good walking shoes. Must visit the Bread Factory!

Love the people, the city is full of history recomend getting the tour bus good way to see the sights, hot on hop off. Food was amazing recommend Mezza Athens near centre for friendly staff and great traditional greek food. Shame about Graffiti everywhere and some rundown areas but didn't feel unsafe. Oh if you use a taxi agree on a price before you leave.

We went with my wife to Athens for 3 days to watch the Athens 2025 Marathon on 9/11/2025. Athens is an excellent place to visit as you can combine entertaining, side seeing especially Parthenonas, Thisio, the Museums. Many traditional taverns and modern food restaurants, bars etc. I would recommend a 3-4 days trip to Athens if you wish to combine a trip with all the above. Marios

Plaka was a wonderful place to visit - close to Acropolis & Parthenon, with shops and restaurants everywhere. I would recommend the "New Athens Free Tour" through GuruWalk. It's a free tour (you just tip the tour guide) and our tour guide was so knowledgeable and entertaining!

Beautiful city and people.

Beautiful city and people. Lots to do and see in the warm November weather. Food was amazing! I would not consider going there during the Summer unless you are able to cope with high temperatures and huge crowds

We spent 2 days on the coast close to Athens.

We spent 2 days on the coast close to Athens. Our aim was to have a relaxing couple of days before our flight home. We spent 2 days on the beach at Palaio Faliro and really enjoyed sharing the beach with lots of Athens residents and lovely sea swims in warm, safe water.

This is an outstanding hotel in every way. The staff are friendly, helpful, thoughtful and caring. The breakfast is fresh, generous and delicious with wonderful options. The room is very comfortable, with thoughtful attention to detail, fabulous art and lots of reading material about Athens and Greece. The location is perfect for transportation and the city centre. Great value overall. We highly recommend this hotel and plan to return again soon.

New hotel. Great look. Staff were amazing. The rooms are beautiful. Love the large shower compared with standard Greece sized showers. Comfortable bed & pillows. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Ample choice of hot & cold selections. Coffee was very good too. Great location. Walking distance to Plaka. Small convenience store nearby. 50 metres from metro. Would definitely return.

Very nice and big apartment. Clean and modern with 3 nice bedrooms and 2 nice bathrooms. Short walk to the metro in quiet neighborhood. Overall very satisfied with Num suits. The restaurant under the hotel was also one of the best ones we ate at in Greece.
