Everything about this place is just amazing. I come here regularly, and for what you pay for the room—including access to the spa—it’s incredible value. The staff are super professional (you won’t find service like this anywhere else in Plymouth), and the rooms are always spotless and high-quality. I had to stay for 2 wks with my dog while my husband was in hospital. It was the lovely friendly Staff that made my stay. They were not only friendly to me and my dog but also asked after my husband. Every evening I would sit in the cosy sitting area with sofas and my dog was welcome as well as in the bar/restaurant area. The room is not large but very comfortable and the bed was comfy as well. I stayed in January but the room was always warm enough. I ate in the Hotel every evening and the food is very good., maybe not the sort of food for a diet, but hearty comfort food and a delicious sticky toffee pudding! The rooms are in a separate building right next to Reception and Bar/Restaurant but I found that much easier with the dog as I could take her straight from the car parked in front of the room. I would definitely stay again.

My daughter and I had a fantastic stay at the Inn. Our room and the facilities were very comfortable, spacious and beautifully appointed. Breakfast and dinner were great. Loved the location, the village is so charming and on the edge of Dartmoor, one of the most beautiful areas in England. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay.

The hosts were exceptional, super friendly, and clearly love what they do. The beds were comfy, and the breakfast was amazing! They even helped out when we got a flat tire! Would recommend to anyone, a great place to stay for a long or short stay (plus Dylan (the dog) is adorable!)

Hmm where to begin the views from our room were amazing. The staff friendliness and the food was better than expected. The hotel itself is old and in some places showing its age, but having said that would stay again.

Location is wonderful in the middle of Dartmoor with sheep grazing and open spaces , the hotel has plenty of parking and out door space , not plush but comfortable and the area very lovely and ultra rural

If you don't enjoy travelling along narrow lanes or you have a new car you don't want to scratch, use the Newnham Industrial estate to Newnham Road and use the B3417 to Lee Moor and on to Wotter.

Idyllic moorland location that offers stunning views of Plymouth Sound and the Cornish coast. The hosts were warm and friendly from the moment we walked through the door and work tirelessly to ensure that their guests have a memorable stay. Fabulous food with both the evening and breakfast menu offering a good choice of well-presented delicious dishes. The restaurant is perfectly situated at the rear of the hotel allowing guests to take in the tranquil moorland setting whilst enjoying the excellent food and welcoming ambiance.

Lovely location, staff very friendly and good food. I had to arrive later than planned and rang ahead to enquire about food service, they took my order over the phone (so I didn’t miss it) and then bought it up to the room after I checked in, also included a complimentary brownie as I’d had a bit of trauma and it was my bday. Food was fab and very reasonable. Lovely location for the moor, was there to compete the dog in a race near Plymouth and was a very dog friendly hotel as well.

To be honest, the hotel looks like it has recently changed hands. Some money has been spent tidying the public spaces but certainly the room we were in left a lot to be desired . The carpet was stained and I certainly did not want to walk on it in bare feet. The shower/ bathroom was tired, the grouting stained and the flooring delaminating. The staff were friendly but not personable. Well positioned for a visit to the Dartmoor zoo, a must see.

The surrounding area around the hotel was quiet and secluded and the staff members that we met were very lovely and accommodating. Also the view from our room was very picturesque!
