We only stayed 1 night to meet up with family but it would have been good to stay longer.. Our accommodation was within walking distance to Blenheim palace and Woodstock. We had a nice meal at Brothertons Italian restaurant.

An attractive small town, right next door to Blenheim Palace and near to Oxford: an excellent base for exploring the area more generally. The town has lots of places to eat and drink, and some useful shops, including a co-op in the centre of town. Prices aren't cheap, but quality is good. Parking can be a bit of a problem at busy periods, but we managed OK.

Parking can be challenging; the free car park allows only 12 hours out of every 24hrs. Paid parking has max stay of 4 hours so there may be the need to move your car frequently if you're not going out during the day. Lots of pubs and hotels are dog-friendly but there aren't many places to take a dog for a walk. There isn't a lot of grass around unless you want to pay £31 to walk the dog at Blenheim Palace. Woodstock is however a very pretty town with lots of places to eat and drink. Probably better if you don't have a dog or a car though.

A beautiful and quiet place with lots of eateries and interesting shops. Parking is a bit of a pain though as you are only allowed up to four hours and where we stayed had no off road parking which meant that before breakfast you had to dash out and feed the meter. Add to that the problem that the meters often ran out of paper so you could not put a ticket under your windscreen and you might have to write a note to say you have paid.

Woodstock is a lovley place to visit and stay.

Woodstock is a lovley place to visit and stay. Parking is not easy as there are not many places to park. Plenty of different priced accommodation and places to eat. When I stay I always eat at Blenheim Palace as this is my main reason for coming to Woodstock. I would not stay anywhere else as once you are at your accommodation , Blenheim Palace is a stones throw, and the side entrance is in the village. As I am a solo traveller I find it a lovely safe place to walk around.

Visiting Blenheim Palace close by.

Visiting Blenheim Palace close by. Woodstock is a pretty market town with a good selection of places to choose from to eat out. We enjoyed eating out at The Chef Imperial Chinese restaurant/takeaway where we had a delicious meal for 2 at very good value for the local area.

Beautiful and quaint Cotswold pub/restaurant with an open fire. We have visited the Woodstock arms before for drinks and food, but this is the first time we have stayed. Our room was cosy and comfortable, and the shower was really good. We ate in the restaurant both nights which was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed an excellent breakfast in the morning sat by the fire. The staff at the Woodstock arms were incredibly welcoming and really made our stay, thank you

It is a well-run comfortable hotel but the single rooms are rather small; I was lucky to be offered a spare double which was very comfortable. parking is easily available and access to Woodstock and Blenheim Palace ideal up the Blazon Road.
