The best feature for me was the promenade. Good for walking.

The best feature for me was the promenade. Good for walking. The St Mary's Island and lighthouse were definitely worth the visit. It was very pleasant watching the seals on the rocks around the Island. Spanish City building was also well worth the visit. The was ample facilities on the promenade and in the Town Centre which was only a five minute walk from the promenade, including many public houses and restaurants.

Not somewhere I will rush back to, other than the seafront it felt very tired, it has seen better days, I would recommend that you keep going until your reach Tynemouth which has a much nicer feel to it.

The sea front's really nice, lovely walk to the lighthouse and down to Tynemouth and North Shields. The town centre's OK, quite small, but good transport via bus and metro to get around the area.

Whitley bay was clean ,no rubbish on streets.

Whitley bay was clean ,no rubbish on streets. Everyone was friendly. The boardwalk was busy with dog walkers, runners and cyclists. The beach is large and clean. Plenty of places to eat at good prices. Spanish city is worth the visit. Definitely would recommend a visit and will go back .

Lovely stretch of sandy beach with interesting geology, plus plenty of nearby venues, Easy walk to St Mary's Lighthouse. Old Hartley Bay with amazing geology, and Seaton Sluice (fascinating, good pubs) nearby.

Great place; wonderful local coastline: beaches, rocks, harbour etc. All very well kept too (well-done The Council) Parking charges reasonable. Cannot see why people rave about tatty dumps like Brighton with pebbly beaches and scruffy streets and anti-motorist stance. We were fortunate to have lots of sunshine!

Such a lovely property! Spotlessly clean, comfortable, fantastic location. Host Lee, Paul and Rosie went out of their way to cater for my Gluten Free dietary requirements. Delicious breakfast, eggs Bennie to die for. A short walk straight down the street from the Whitley Bay Metro. So easy to navigate from Newcastle Airport and at a very reasonable price. The coast line at the end of the street is beautiful. Walk the esplanade and experience this quiet area outside of Newcastle.

I was visiting Whitley bay to see a friend The hotel is nice, just make sure to get the right door not the pub below the sign. Room was very comfy Good location near beach Good price Friendly staff Comfy bed On street parking (North Parade is free on Sundays), South Parade I believe is unregulated My shower was a bit cold though I only stayed a night I'm sure reception would have been able to help.

Excellent location in a very peaceful country environment but so quick to get to Newcastle, Whitley Bay etc. Also perfect for staying a night before sailing from Port of Tyne. Very warm welcome from the charming owner (and helpful with directions!). Very nice room. Very clean. Good value for solo traveller but excellent value for two or three occupants.

It has such a cosy atmosphere - very warm and welcoming. The bedrooms feel like being at home rather than a hotel, with lovely touches like hot water bottles and hot chocolate! Amazing breakfast and perfect location, right near the sea and the shops. I love coming back here whenever in Whitley Bay!
