Friendly welcome, independent shops, walks to Hilbre, Red rocks, the sea lake, and a day in Ness. West Kirby is a very clean and tidy little town, with lots of beautiful houses. The sea and Marine Lake are easily accessible and Ashton Park is beautifully kept. We enjoyed walking the Marine Path each morning. There are lots of individual shops in the town, as well as a couple of big supermarkets. All the shop keepers and most of the people around were friendly and responded positively to our greetings. There are lots of people walking dogs in the town, but we saw only one dog mess which hadn’t been picked up. There were also plenty of places to eat out, either for coffee, lunch or dinner at night. We tried several and were very satisfied with them all. St Bridget’s church is also worth a visit. It’s a lovely red sandstone church and is surrounded by an interesting graveyard! My son, who has autism, loved the apartment, the space, location and facilities were excellent. I was very impressed with what was on offer and found the stay very good value for money.
