We loved everything! Our room had few problems so the host gave us a free upgrade with a seaside view - which made us feel much better. Because the new room was with an amazing view, comfortable, with everything needed in every room. It was specifically for three people. And the view again to the seaside - still cannot forget. The host was a very kind gentleman.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with freshly baked scones and a generous bowl of fruit. The grandchildren consumed a significant portion of the fruit. Our host provided exceptional service and assistance. The property's location was ideal.

The room was fantastic value. It was spacious and and had everything a traveller could want in a hotel room: iron, ironing board, hairdryer, coffee/tea making (kettle), a mini fridge. The shower was modern and toilet clean. i noticed they have extra fan and heating as well. The hotel is a bit dated (a trouser press in room is always a giveaway 😆), but it is well kept and clean. The room comes with free on site parking in a beautiful location on Roker Beach.

Tynemouth Long Sands beach is well named & very popular even in December! Very good bus service right by the hotel into Newcastle, Whitley Bay etc. Also the hotel is opposite Tynemouth boating lake that has a dinosaur theme area which the kiddies will love. If you are into history Tynemouth has a priory that looks like a castle which was made that way to protect against viking raiders. Also, there is Collingwood's Monument which has cannons from the battle of Trafalgar. Collingwood was Nelson's second-in-command.

Tynemouth is a lovely classy seaside resort with a beautiful beach called Long Sands. The castle is worth a visit and there are lots of interesting shops, restaurants and bars. You can walk to Cullercoats in fifteen mins and another fifteen minutes further to Whiteley Bay which is also worth a visit.

Our first visit toTynemouth and we were pleasantly surprised by what it had to offer. It has the feel of a small resort in that all the major attractions are within walking distance and it is not overwhelmed by tourists. It is also a very convenient base for taking the ferry across the Tyne to South Shields or the Metro into central Newcastle. It also gives very easy access for visiting the many ancient Roman sites in and around Hadrian's Wall. One particular highlight was eating at Riley's Fish Shack, scenically beautiful as it is located on a quiet beach below Tynemouth Priory. The fresh sea food served there was amazing.

Tynemouth is a really nice area to visit. the beaches are lovely and there are many places to eat however I would suggest that you head slightly out of Tynemouth toward North Shields and turn down to the quayside, the fish dishes available there are really good.
