Cheap basic accommodation for 5 min drive to airport. Advertised hotel opposite-this doesn’t serve food. Better hotel was Lamb and Lion two blocks away-lovely. Fish and chips -walk around the corner or Kebab van opposite.

Takeley has nothing going for it at all apart from its...

Takeley has nothing going for it at all apart from its closeness to the airport. A number of industrial units but no place to get a breakfast. The roads in and around are lined with cars that have been parked there by people who have gone on holiday but don't want to use the exorbitant and overcrowded parking at the airport.

We arrived for 1 night stay , nobody there as we arrived Key was in key box and did not work , we went into the pub to ask for help to be told it was nothing to do with them but she would try to contact someone, a man came and finally opened our room and to say we were disappointed was an understatement , tiny , dark , dirty , soap dispensers were empty , bedding smelled We had to sleep with door unlocked in case we couldn't get out again ! Looked like door had been kicked previously.

I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5...

I was DISGUSTED to find out that my cousin, who drove 5 hours to drop us off at Takeley, was fined 100 pounds for "So Called Parking" at the hotel. He stayed long enough to stretch his legs and plan his trip back home. He was there a maximum of 5 to 10 minutes. This IS NOT how you treat guests who are dropped off. What was he supposed to do PARK IN THE STREET!!!! I Apart from things not working In our first room and we had to be changed, then we find out about this BS fine. There was no mention of parking fines on booking.com. I would NOT recommend this hotel and its money making scheme to anyone. You would NEVER be treated like this in Australia. We welcome tourists not fine their drivers. Extremely disappointed !!!! When someone goes out of their way to make sure we arrived safely and then are treated like this it makes me sick.

Avoid if you value your health and safety.

Avoid if you value your health and safety. This property is being mis sold. It doesn't even have fully functioning electric, no fridge, black mould, disgusting shower heads, filthy. Avoid had no electric to charge phone or for medical equipment. Place is a death trap. They have no idea about disability access, you can't even get in the rooms with a wheelchair never mind get into bed or use the shower and toilet

The bell was not working waiting long for someone to come at the door , asked if was staying for i night or 2 nights then was just put in a room without a lock was so scared the whole night I kept my eyes open

Great place! Will definitely stay again next time we are flying from Stansted. Taxi is very expensive (£27) for the 2 miles drive but I believe £7 of that fee is for dropping off at Stansted. We used the parking at The White House whilst we are away, and was very reasonably priced. We stayed in Aqua room. Comfy, clean and everything we needed. Definitely recommend 👌

Simply awful! No staff, unwelcoming, no access, no food, WiFi didn’t work, unclean, terrible toilet, collapsing shower screen causing minor injury, scruffy cluttered room. Billed as a “boutique hotel”, it’s certainly not that!

Very wrong hotel. Why dont let me to change the day after 2 hours when i order room. And then dont let me to change for other day. And in evening i chek that it is others free room for a normal price but they dont let me to change.

Landlord is really nice and kind. The property is located in a very lovely countryside place close to Stansted airport. Very beautiful views around the hotel. The fridge in the room is very good and useful for storing food.
