The hotel was lovely and the local pub full of character and happy people! Close to the beautiful Pitsford reservoir with it's stunning scenery and relaxing and easy walking and cycling around. As far as I know the only reason to visit here is the airfield. Immediately in front of the hotel is a company offering flights in vintage aircraft such as Spitfires and Tiger Moths and to one side is the base of the Blades Aerobatic team. Both were flying a range of aircraft all day with the Blades providing a full four aircraft flying display over the airfield for their own guests. It would be worth a visit for that alone. For anyone interested in aviation this is a great place to visit as the public areas are really close to the aircraft. We even had an impromptu fly past by the Red Arrows. Whether that happens often I don't know but as the Blades pilots are all ex Red Arrows I doubt it was a one off. No problem parking cars and no parking charges and the Aviator Hotel offers bar and food service to non residents.Guest review byAndyCUnited Kingdom
