Lots to see and do in Stonehaven and if you like walking,...

Lots to see and do in Stonehaven and if you like walking, photography and the sea this is a great place to visit. Also lots of historical places to visit. The Old Harbour is just beautiful in all weather. Interesting Tolbooth Museum with very friendly and helpful volunteers, great old pubs and amazing food and beers.

Stonehaven is the cutest little town.

Stonehaven is the cutest little town. The best thing about it is the outdoor swimming pool. There are not many of these around and it's just a dream. The water is heated to something like 35C in the summer. The water is fed from the sea and it is right at the beach. I would go to Stonehaven for that alone. The harbour is gorgeous and in the summer it's a hive of activity from sailing to paddle boarding. There's even saunas for the cold water swimmers. Also Dunnotar castle is in Stonehaven. It's an incredible place and not to be missed. Lastly, the fish and chips is just the best in Stonehaven. It's a lovely stop off for a weekend in Scotland.

Stonehaven is a quaint little town by the sea.

Stonehaven is a quaint little town by the sea. Dunnottar Castle is the superstar here! There are plenty of options for dining and some lively pubs. Much of the town is walkable so it’s easy to get around. We only stayed for two nights but could have stayed longer. A short drive took us into a much larger town of Aberdeen. We explored Old Aberdeen with its university and history. Highly recommend Stonehaven.

Stonehaven is a lovely little town with lots of pubs and cafe in which the staff are friendly and welcoming. There is lots to do for both adults and children. The walk along the front is fantastic and guaranteed to clear the head. A visit to Dunnottar Castle is also a must!

We loved the quaint shops the market place to people watch . The beach front walks discovering the harbour. I personally found it for a woman alone walking in the early morning s very relaxing dog walkers were friendly and l enjoyed my pace and looking at architecture and the amount of cafe s and entertainment fir kids and adults .

The walk along the harbor has some great art installations.

The walk along the harbor has some great art installations. A 2.5 mile hike takes you to Dunnottar Castle with a war memorial along the way. Breathtaking views along the coastal walk. We didn't get out of the harbor but there was a coop store close by and only a mile from the train station.

We stayed for 2 nights at Bayview bed and breakfast to do a costal walk to Dunnottar Castle and Fowlsheugh and this was the absolutely perfect place to stay. Large room, super comfortable bed, great selection of breakfast options and in an excellent location. The host David was excellent and super helpful when we had a query about the heating and he came round immediately to sort it out. For anyone looking to stay in Stonehaven, I would 1000% recommend you stay here.

The hotel is perfectly situated to explore Stonehaven, the beach, harbour and the surrounding area like donnotar castle, the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating for any needs we required during our stay.. Already planning a return in February! Absolutely love the town and it's people, we can't wait to return

Pleasant clean modern room. Central, overlooking harbour. Good vibes - busy wee too and hotel with locals and tourists alike enjoying food, drinks, sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, Sups etc, family beach fun and beautiful views. Delicious evening menu. Super tasty breakfast too :)

Lovely place to have a caravan. There was everything you would need. A nice decking area with a bbq. Only Five minutes in the car to Stonehaven. Kirsty was especially helpful recommending taxis and the best take aways.
