Marvelous array of barbers, charity shops and betting shops.

Marvelous array of barbers, charity shops and betting shops. Town Centre is awful although outlying areas are scenic. Saw several crack heads fumbling around in oblivion trying to find their footwear whilst on another planet (Beach Road). Never again, grim.

We chose the accommodation because we needed somewhere with 6 bedrooms in or convenient for Newcastle and there was limited choice. We were not expecting the beach and coastal views to be so good - with beachside cafes and bars. it was an added bonus.

I was surprised by the facilities and what was available, I had heard so many bad things about being there, that when we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised and wished we had stayed in the area longer. We went out of season but would love to see it in season.

We really enjoyed our time.

We really enjoyed our time. We stayed in Sandhaven beach chalets as the location was fantastic and the chalet is a great size. The fair is brilliant the prices are decent too and we had great fun in the arcades. We went into town which had a great selection of shops and we had food from the fair which were all great.

Been to South Shields over 20 times in the past and I never get bored of it. The town is spotlessly clean. The beaches and parks are amazing. If you like to eat out the number and choice of venues is incredible. The local people are great. Friendly and cheerful. A must for a visit but a day is not enough.

People in South Shield is very friendly and I have good experiences. The building and architechture is interesting. We love Chinese food at Phoenix restaurant in China town Newcastle and Frozen Yogurt in Grainger Market. Take away from Crown of India are fantastic food on Ocean Road. There are free 3 hours parking which is very helpful and convenient for tourists. My daughter said that there are load of children entertainment in order of fun things for children are Life Science Museum more fun than Hancock museum. She like Liang Museum so much.

It was my mums 90th who was from South Shields. We got upgrades to the penthouse, which was lovely and we will definitely pick those rooms next time we visit. Great view. Thanks Emily other rooms are pretty basic but ok. Restaurant food was nice in the evening, basic for breakfast, but all good. Lovely place to stay for walking along the beach.
