Calder House Hotel looked to have great views out to sea...

Calder House Hotel looked to have great views out to sea with a fabulous beach. We experienced a tired run down establishment with a ‘couldn’t be bothered’ staff attitude. Dismissive and inattentive, we would never go back.

Great food in terms of quantity and quality, friendly and helpful staff, and a spacious room with a lovely view of the sea and beach. We travelled to various parts of Cumbria each day of our stay to make the most of the time we had there.

If your looking for quiet peaceful rest Seascale, is the best place to stay, a quiet village, with a few amenities just enough to cater for your needs, the locals are embracing and friendly, I can`t smile enough on the joy of this gem, Seascale.

Nice small town, don't expect many shops or cafes/restaurants. The Seaside was very beautiful, easy to walk, with beautiful scenery, golden sand and big rocks. Keep in mind it looks like it's always windy there.

Seascale is a quiet friendly town with the most amazing beach and is close to some of the most stunning scenery in the country. Not too touristy, Mawson's the Ice Cream parlour is absolutely fantastic and a must visit location

We would come back here in a heartbeat. Our hosts could not have been kinder. They accommodated our request for a late check-in and generally went above and beyond to give us a great experience. Central Seascale location makes this guest house accessible by train. Bike paths and quiet roads make for a good cycling holiday, and of course the hill-walking is amazing. We like the Red Admiral in nearby Gosforth for dinner or a pint.

Calder House was fantastic! Every member of staff was so friendly and helpful! We were leaving before breakfast service so they went out of their way to put a little breakfast together so we could have something to eat. The hotel was clean, welcoming and right by the beach! Would absolutely recommend

No owner to be seen, breakfast had to be at nearby hotel, curtains falling off window and on ground floor so felt a bit vulnerable as single female. Clean sheets and bathroom so served it's purpose but for £94 per night poor value
