Good public transport via train and bus.

Good public transport via train and bus. Frequent service on both to town and country. Good selection of bars and eateries. Likewise supermarket for those self catering. Characterful town with wide beaches, popular with surfers. Great walks from the town along coast paths or inland. Trip out to RSPB Saltholm was wet but rewarding. Marsh Harrier hunting lapwing, successfully. Also, large numbers of seals a little further up at the appropriately named Seal Sands.!

An unspoiled Victorian town - with a village feel.

An unspoiled Victorian town - with a village feel. Somewhere from the madding crowds to relax and unwind. On a steep incline, to the beach, but the tram was up and running. £2 a ride. Road access to the beach. Train station is central to town. Lovely local shops and cafes. Very easy to get around. Prices of Spa Hotel stays actually cheaper if you book directly through them.

I picked Saltburn-By-The-Sea as it had a railway station, I really wanted to visit Staithes just down the coast but transport links there were limited. Saltburn is a charming Victorian style seaside resort with a pier, miniture railway, and some lovely coastal and woodland walks. The beach is classic sandy beach and great for walking along. Bus links to picturesque places like Staithes and Whitby are good and frequent. Whitby is a good place to visit for the Abbey Ruins, The North Yorkshire Moors Railway, and of course fish & chips!!! I was surprised at how much I liked the town!!! There were plenty of places to eat and drink and east and quick transport links to larger cities like Middlesborough and Darlington. The people of Northeast Yorkshire are friendly and welcoming, and if you like walking there are miles of coastal and inland trails to explore

Saltburn is an ideal location for a quite break, super beaches (Dog friendly in many places). Lots of coffee shops for a reward after a walk. lovely woodland and gardens. Easy access to the Cleveland Way footpaths and good roads for visiting other local beauty spots. The bus to Whitby is doable and avoids parking nightmares.

Unfortunately it was very cold and windy for most of the weekend, which limited what we could do. Disappointing opportunities for Real Ale within walking distance. Imagine it's much nicer in better weather. Seaview Restaurant was excellent.

Fabulous flat. Have stayed in Saltburn a few times including a certain hotel. This was the best one yet. So much space and so quiet. Has everything you need. It is above a charming pub but you can't hear anything. Just a minutes' walk away from the excellent Italian and Thai restaurants, also shops, supermarket and the cliff lift. A real winner!

Nice Hotel, comfortable beds and very clean rooms, Amazing Seaview from restaurant and outside seating area. I liked the idea that my car was parked just outside my room, and I could get into my room through side door!, It was a bit handy for walks, Not all rooms like this but that was a different experience.

The staff were very friendly, room was very clean and it was the only place we could get signal around that area! We weren’t expecting a hotel this remote would have a vegan breakfast but we were pleasantly surprised as they had a whole menu!

The bar shut at 6 and there was no food (i.e breakfast and dinner). There was no hotel staff to run the reception after 6pm.
