Ross is a small historic town in a lovely position with views over the countryside from the higher part and walks and places to eat and drink along the riverside..The shops in the town are rather limited with lots of charity shops but there is an excellent bookshop and some antique and gift shops. There are a number of pubs and restaurants with varying menus. There are buses to surrounding towns and villages

A charming market town with lovely independent

A charming market town with lovely independent shops and very friendly locals. There is much to see and do in the area. Narrow pavements though so one needs to be careful. The King's Head in Ross is a good pub. A nice Italian restaurant exists in the same street just a few yards away. It is vital to book there as it does get very busy. Lots going on at the Corn Exchange and other venues in the town. A great place to visit and the surrounding countryside is stunning.

A beautiful town with great walks, good range of shops, historic buildings and in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Lots to see in and around the town. Good choice of restaurants and bars. It's on a hill, so a challenge for anyone with mobility issues. We loved the Sunday music programme in the riverside park.

We had a lovely visit to Tewksbury Abbey and the town on our way to Ross on Wye. During our stay we went walking in Symonds Yap then drove down for a brief visit to Monmonth. On another day we went on a very enjoyable 6 mile loop walk from our hotel. We would definitely recommend a visit to the Avellino Restaurant in the High Street. This area offers a lot to do and explore, surrounded by lovely countryside.

It is well located about 15 minute walk to Ross on Wye along the river The building is old and has character The owners were friendly and helpful. I liked the fa t the hotel is independently owned It was quiet The food for at dinner is excellent- ‘ Home from Home’ cooking - not something one finds often when away —- can’t stress enough how good the food is

Everything in the apartment was of extremely high quality, with a great deal of attention to detail. The host was very welcoming and quick to respond to any requests. Comfy bed, excellent shower, reliable high speed internet and 'Now' TV option. Very convenient location only a few minutes walk from the town centre.

Great location on a hill overlooking the River Wye and the surrounding countryside with a large beer garden/terrace where you can drink, dine and take in the views. Only a two minute walk to the town centre - also has it's own good sized car park at the rear.
