Rhu is a cute little village on the water.

Rhu is a cute little village on the water. I booked here because I couldn't get into Luss, and after visiting Luss, I'm glad we didn't stay there as it was extremely busy. Rhu is quiet and accessible to Glasgow.

My trip was purely social with engagements in Helensburgh...

My trip was purely social with engagements in Helensburgh and at local rugby club, so I did not go to any visitor attractions or restaurants over a wet and windy winter weekend even if sun shone on Sunday morning. Take care over crossing road intersections and parking on both sides of the streets in the town-both require driver alertness and awareness ..

Rhu is a quiet town with a few shops and facilities.

Rhu is a quiet town with a few shops and facilities. The view is amazing and we found a nice little beach walk we took a stroll around each evening. Only about 15 minute drive to Loch Lomond and other facilities. The Hill House was a nice little bonus.

All the people we spoke to were very pleasant - and helpful with directions.Everywhere was clean ! It was easy to find our way around and redeveloped areas had obviously been done with great care and were ' people-orientated 'There are excellent places to eat offering a variety of cuisines at competitive prices. There is a small friendly cinema, at least one large park, an interesting ' outdoor museum ',leisure centre, boat trips and, of course " the prom " ..., and more ! Last but not least MacIntosh's " Hill House ".We had no trouble parking at the pier (but this was in October ) This is my 2nd visit and I hope to be back !

Extremely dog friendly, the staff were excellent and very helpful. The breakfast was exceptional. When we arrived we were greeted with treats for the dogs. They brought bowls and dog beds up to the room and each morning at breakfast they were both given a sausage each. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and we shall be back

Really nice and charming Hotel, set right by the water. Breakfast was really great - freshly made upon order. So much nicer than big buffets and less waste.
