I travel to Redruth as I have family living there.

I travel to Redruth as I have family living there. Its a lovely little town - very handy to get to the coast and the beautiful countryside. Would highly recommend. Redruth is rather small so easy to get around. The railway station is a great asset if you do not have a car.

The town itself is rather seedy and run down with many closed shops. However it was quite handy to Truro and a good stepping stone to head off to more remote parts of Cornwall. Good parking available in town

Redruth, like some other Cornish towns is struggling. Lots of empty shops and charity shops. Close to the A30, so it’s easy to go north south east or west . No real eateries . Within 4 miles you have Portreath which is a great place to spend a sunny day.

The room was lacking of air conditioning and I had to open a big and wide window for air during the night. I was frightened in case of crawling insects or a fox can easily climb in as the room I stayed downstairs on the side of back garden with load of weeds and a trees that looks like a forest.

Unfortunately i cant rate the town of Redruth very high.this is due to how steep the main shopping street is. If you have mobility issues dont shop in Redruth. But once you manage to get to the top of the street there are buses that can take you on lovely journeys to places like Truro, Penzance and surrounding areas all for a fiver day ticket. Plus there is a train station if you fancy a train ride. If you have a car and want to save on fuel then use one of the many long term carparks for around Four pound for the day and use the buses

The apartment was quite big, very clean and really cozy. Being on the ground floor it wasn't too hot inside. There were cookies next to tea and coffee jars and there was even a bottle of wine left for us. There was a washing machine which was very important to us and a chance to wash our clothes during our long trip. Grocery shopping was easy, there were large shops in Redruth.

Was an amazing stay and the staff went the extra mile to make someone’s birthday extra special! I requested a simple ‘Happy Birthday’ note/card to be left in the room, and instead of this the staff placed up birthday banners, put a birthday balloon on the bed and also gave a free bottle of wine. The hotel staff did an amazing job! :)

The breakfast was the best we had experienced in a hotel for ages - well done! We had an accessable family room and there was plenty of space. Beds were comfortable. The staff were nice and friendly.
