Portpatrick is a lovely rugged place with great views, nice walks and a friendly welcome from those we met. Plenty of parking spaces and a very nice hostelry, the Crown hotel, which serves the best food around. I would really recommend staying there if you liked walking , especially the coastal routes and for some peace and quiet. Portpatrick is a quaint seaside village with great access to the outdoors. A good stay, in my opinion, is all down to the weather. Unfortunately the prices in the sea front bars are 'city prices' with a pint of lager coming in at £6.50. Usual prices in the region vary from around £4.00 - £4.50. It's a great place to stay and travel around to see Luce bay. Be-aware that the hotel sits on a hill with a great view, so that the walk back up from the harbour can be a bit of a strain. Boat trips are available.Guest review byAnonymous
