Penzance has lovely walks including the coast path. There are many good pubs and restaurants. I love real ale and the beer at The Crown was the best of all! Of significant importance to me is the train station and bus station; the bus services are very good and also mostly quite frequent. Penzance provides a perfect hub from which to visit many beautiful places in Cornwall. Hayle beach is at the top of my list of magnificent beaches. Lovely parks and gardens, plenty of shopping, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and places of historic interest. Would recommend the Admiral Benbow Inn. Town and seaside location. Long promenade - you can walk right to Newlyn. Plenty of taxis, bus and train station within walking distance. Near St. Michael's Mount and good transport for all tourist attractions such as The Eden Project, Landsend, the Minack Theatre, and Mousehole. Good access to the South West Coastal path leading to unspoilt coves. I didn't have a car but no problems getting around. Would recommend walking from Sennen Cove to Landsend. A little over a mile but quite steep at beginning and it will take a while as you will want to stop often to take in the views, the geology and to take photos. Landsend hotel for food and drink and Landsend experience worth the walk. You can bus back to your hotel!Guest review byMilesUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Penzance feels tired.
Penzance feels tired. Market Jew Street is a shadow of its former self. I hope when the works in the street are finished, the town will pick itself up. It’s a lovely town and deserves to regain its former seaside glory. It was a good base for travelling around the southern tip of Cornwall. Cheaper accommodation and no crowds. The beach is ok but not as fabulous as neighbouring locations. Boat trips available and we saw dolphins with their young. Work currently in progress upgrading areas along front and in the town. Only a short walk down to Mousehole and you can stroll along the coast into Penzance if you want. There is a bus service located in Mousehole if you don't want to drive. Very handy. We would recommend staying at this charming property. Carolyn was an exceptional host, friendly and extremely helpful.
