My stay at Nutsford House near Dulverton was nothing short of delightful. Nestled within a sprawling countryside estate, the atmosphere was serene and picturesque. Accompanied by my mother, we were warmly welcomed into a charming double bed bedroom that exuded comfort and tranquility. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the warm hospitality extended by the owners. They were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home. Their furry companions, a cat and a dog, added an extra layer of coziness to the ambiance, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast served was a delicious spread of local delights, providing the perfect start to each day of our stay. From freshly baked pastries to hearty cooked meals, every bite was a treat for the taste buds. Overall, Nutsford House surpassed all expectations, offering not just accommodation but an unforgettable experience immersed in the beauty of the countryside. The location was perfect opposite the village car park with a donation charge of 50p. The accommodation was perfect with all the expected facilities and more. The pub and accommodation were both immaculately clean and the staff so friendly and helpful. Would definitely choose to stay again if visiting the area.

The rooms, the view, the quietness. The owners were really nice and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The next super market is only 5 minutes by car.

Really lovely little pub in pretty village.

Really lovely little pub in pretty village. Beer and drinks at a good price and food looked really good. Rooms very well decorated, shower powerful, bed very comfortable with tea/coffee provided. Lovely cooked breakfast cooked to order and staff all friendly and accommodating.

We've known The Red Lion for many years as we have four...

We've known The Red Lion for many years as we have four family members buried in the churchyard in Oakford and visit the village whenever we are down from London to pay our respects. This was the first time we'd actually stayed overnight though, and it didn't disappoint. The refurbishment some years ago has made this a special place to visit - very picturesque, cosy bar and breakfast room downstairs and luxuriously appointed en-suite bedrooms upstairs. The comfiest bed with gorgeous bedding and plush towels. Good sized television and fresh milk for our tea/coffee tray in the room. Thoughtful touch with earplugs for the rooks, but wasn't a problem for us. Lovely breakfast and our dog made to feel very welcome. Wish we had had longer but will definitely be back! Remote location obviously not an issue for us as we know the area well, and certainly adds to the charm of a stay in Oakford.
