The hotel is in a quiet area surrounded by parks and nature, but still within walking distance of the city centre (10-15 mins). Our room was nice, clean, tidy, and quiet, also rather spacious. We had booked a double room but were given one that had a single plus a large (LARGE!) double bed, which was cool. I also enjoyed having a bathtub! What's also perfect is that there's a restaurant attached that serves excellent food, including amazing breakfast. We had initially booked without breakfast, then decided we wanted some, and thankfully it was not a problem at all as it was possible to just pay for it at the restaurant. There's ample free parking outside if you arrive by car. Staff was friendly and helpful. We used this hotel as a basis for excursions to nearby Sandal & Pontefract castles, and once went by bus to Leeds, which was easy as well. Would definitely recommend the Holmfield Arms!
