Dash straight into the luxurious Selfridges and Triangle departments stores before checking out the old-English charm of the Shambles.

The cultural foundations of this predominantly red-brick city are on display at the Manchester Museum and the People’s History Museum. If art is you preference, the extensive pre-Raphaelite collection at the Manchester Art Gallery is a sight to behold.

The history capital of industrial revolution.

The history capital of industrial revolution. Everything started in Manchester, cotton industry enabled by steam and mechanised production led to the construction of multi-story factories, and constructing the world's first modern railway between Manchester and Liverpool. example spots to visit: Science and Industry Museum, John Rylands Library, Viaduct. Lots of good pubs with quality craft beer. Great coffee places.

We were visiting a relative in the hospital, so this wasn't a holiday. The people of Manchester are very friendly and helpful. Like all cities, it is noisy and a bit hectic. Try to avoid big Match days as accommodation can be hard to find and more expensive. Plenty of restaurants to choose from, and in our experience, the quality of food and service is good.

I really liked the atmosphere, I love the red brick buildings, the autumn colors and scents. The people were nice. I saw a few good exhibitions and one or two bookstores. Transportation, well, that's not easy! You have to walk a lot! :-)

The Maldron is in easy reach of the cathedral, aldrin shopping centre and is a short walk to the theatre. The staff are lovely and very helpful. They do a lovely poached egg and porridge at breakfast. Lots more we could say, but in brief, eat drink watch, definitely look upwards at the mixture of buildings, relax and enjoy your time at Manchester Maldron!
