We went to the festival of rememberance. It was wonderful. We were surprised at the local pub closing early and we couldn’t find.nd anywhere open to eat so ended up at Mc Donald’s in Victoria station. It seemed to be the only place open.

Over the past ten years, London has changed, and not for the better. There has been an increase in crime that has largely been ignored by the Mayor of London. Street crime, in particular, has risen considerably. There are areas of London that may be best avoided by white people, primarily due to an increase in one specific religious group. Furthermore, before travelling to London (or anywhere else in the UK), it is wise to check if local hotels are housing illegal immigrants, especially if you have female children. There has been a noted increase in sexual assaults on females, which some attribute to the beliefs of certain individuals who may not regard young girls as untouchable. I share this with a heavy heart, as I was born in London and can no longer consider it my hometown.

We were staying in Barnes for the duration of our trip as we wanted to be near our daughter so we didn't visit the rest of London. We did go the Victoria and Albert Museum before we caught the train home and enjoyed this very much. I would recommend visiting this museum.

We visited in late August and the city was packed with tourists. At some of the tourist attractions we could not even walk because of the masses. The public transportation system takes a few trips to get the hang of it, and we did not research in advance. It was trial and error, but we managed at the end. Cost of living was higher than we expected, and we live in NYC! But we also found cheaper options to eat after asking around. Londoners are extremely friendly and we always found people willing to help us and provide advice. We felt very safe at all times, even late at night. We were surprised at the scarcity of public restrooms in the touristy areas. The attractions did not disappoint, and just to walk around London was magical sometimes. So much history, so much culture, so much diversity, so many literary references! But avoid high season: too many tourists everywhere.

London has so much history, stunning squares with old houses lining them- hard to comprehend these were once family homes. Lots of free tourist attractions- Design Museum in beautiful Holland Park, lovely walks nearby through pretty mews, parks and bustling streets. Use BUSES to enjoy the sights rather than the overcrowded and whiffy underground!

I’m a little ocd about where I stay - typically don’t stay in cheaper hotels so I was very apprehensive. Honestly the room was immaculate. Staff we’re incredibly kind and upgraded our room ( assuming as they didn’t have anybody book the bigger room for the night ) Was a lovely gesture. Exactly like photos, bed to my surprise was very comfy. 4 minuet from station. We just booked it as somewhere to stay for the night whilst we went for dinner in London and truthfully we will be going back - very private, cosy hotel

The Holiday Inn in Kensington London is in a fantastic location, the underground is around the corner from the hotel therefore it is so easy to return after an excursion, there are so many great shops, cafes and restaurants in the area that you will be spoilt for choice during your stay; if you need a bank or the post office they are also conveniently situated not too far from the hotel. The hotel is comfortable and clean, the staff were helpful and efficient. A great place to stay!

Dry close to Paddington Station so ideal when arriving and leaving London. Staff very friendly, facilities clean, bed comfortable and when I booked it was cheaper than a Travelodge or Premier Inn. I didn’t eat at the hotel so can’t comment on bar or restaurant. I’d stay again if I needed a room in London.

The apartment was clean and specious (compared to london hotels/apartments). Everything in the room was complementary (water, crisps, chocolate). This was very handy as one would arrive to the hotel tired and looking for a quick snack! The homemade batch products were absolutely AMAZING!

The breakfast was nice & served by friendly staff. We had a room overlooking the back of the hotel & from our terrace the view was amazing! We had the skyline of London from the city to the post office tower. Taking in St Paul’s cathedral & the millennium wheel.
