What guests said about Llanvaches:

8.0

The village itself is tiny, no shop, no pub.

The village itself is tiny, no shop, no pub. Fine for us as we didn't want to eat out. There are plenty of local eateries for visitors within a short car-ride. The 13th century church is worth a visit. Nearby villages have lots of historical interest. Caerwent and Caerleon for Roman ruins. Magor has a town trail of many old buildings. Llanmelin Wood Iron age hillfort. Grayhill Stone Circle (but difficult to see due to bracken) and walks on ancient woodland of Wentwood Forest. Look on CADW website if history is your thing :-) Slightly further away Chepstow is a quaint old town with a castle to visit and all modern amenities. This is nearest train station and coach station, also connecting buses to local villages. (I don't think there are any buses into Llanvaches, Llanvair Discoed is nearest and they are infrequent) Hitch-hiking is possible...
