FAQs about hotels in Llandudno

Victorian Resort with a Welsh Twist

The most popular Wales seaside resort, Llandudno covers a peninsula with 2 sandy coastlines. The North Shore’s wide Victorian promenade is lined with period buildings which now house seafront hotels and guest houses. The beach itself stretches all the way between the Little Orme and Great Orme headlands, passing an outdoor swimming pool.

A historic tram climbs to the peak of Great Orme, where Bronze Age copper mines can be visited. The top is also reachable by cable car from Happy Valley, a recreation area with gardens and an artificial ski slope.

A road runs around the base of the headland passing the historic Grand Hotel, a property available on Booking.com and overlooking the Grade II-listed pier – the longest in Wales. The West Shore is much less developed and the Maesdu Golf Course forms most of its shoreline.

Of course, Llandudno has its fair share of traditional seaside pursuits such as donkey rides and fish and chip shops.

The town also has a modern retail park near the train station and Venue Cymru event centre, and wrought-iron canopies shade smaller shops along Mostyn Avenue, Broadway and Street. The latter - Mostyn Street - is effectively the high street and becomes brightly decorated during the Victorian carnival in May.

I have been a regular visitor to Llandudno now for many years ,the Orme is my favourite place along with the pier and the Ferris wheel there. The venue has lots of enjoyable shows and the Welsh snooker tournament is staged there. I recommend going to see a show while you are in town. The leisure centre and pool are also nearby and are clean and family friendly for those wanting to have a swim when on holiday too. I hope to finally relocate there to live permanently in early 2026 ,as when I am there at the end of each stay I never want to go home again.

People very friendly, seagulls not so much so.

People very friendly, seagulls not so much so. Nice seafront walk and plenty of shops around the local area. Local restaurants close very early (8.30pm) except Indian restaurants. Lovely meal at the blue elephant except for waiter requesting tips. Nice touch having several seating areas on the promenade

Classic British seaside resort town with lots of Victorian architecture and a very long pier... You could be in a TV episode of Agatha Christie's Poirot! Llandudno is a great launching point or base camp to see the sights of North Wales. I highly recommend staying a couple of nights. There is an Alice in Wonderland trail as Lewis Carroll was said to be a regular visitor here. We also enjoyed the beach promenade even in the wet and cold weather. We caught a few rainbows when the sun came out!

Shops are all on the flat. Plenty of cafes.

Shops are all on the flat. Plenty of cafes. Two churches in Main Street for anyone who wishes to visit. Long wide promenade. Great theatre. Great Orme has lots of activities on it. Bus tours around town, Orme and neighbouring area. Something for everyone. Botanical Babe is a great cafe to visit on Main Street.

Love Llandudno. Has everything you need.

Love Llandudno. Has everything you need. The beach, the shops. The walks. The tram. The Great Orme. Handy to travel to other places. The pubs. Lovely places to eat. Never changes, still the same as when I came as a child. Just has so much charm.

Very pleasant town with good restaurants.

Very pleasant town with good restaurants. Super countryside around and not far from historic Conwy. Great promenade for long walks on the flat. Like a lot of places there are very few pubs open after 10.00pm.

Lovely hotel. Very welcoming. The room and hotel were very clean. We had a sea view room which was really nice. The breakfast was delicious and great that it was served buffet style so you could help yourself. Good selection of cereals, fruit, drinks and cooked breakfast. There is free parking available however we just parked on the main road and reasonable cost to park there. Handy for the shops and pier and a lovely on site bar. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit llandudno

Brilliant location, on llandudno sea front, not far from all the amenities. Hotel was clean and fresh and we had a lovely sea view room (didn't pay for Seaview but allocated on arrival). Check in staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall great for what we wanted, a night away with the children at the beach and pier.

The hotel is close to the seafront at Llandudno, in a quiet area and is a few minutes walk to local bars, shops and restaurants. The hosts were very friendly and the breakfast provided was good. The bed and pillows were also comfy.
