The planning and layout of of Liverpool's dockland area is superb. My home town of Greenock and the city of Glasgow could learn a lot from Liverpool...shops a wee bit pricey though! Restaurants and other dining/eating/drinking venues are varied and plentiful along with varied prices but something for everyone. We found that things were a lot cheaper in the city itself and we had a great afternoon in the King John pub right next to the Cavern. I felt that areas and things/places of interest could be better highlighted along with street signs etc. but not a big issue! We loved our short stay, lots to do and see, oh! we did the Beatles tour which is reasonably priced and a good way to see some city highlights. Our guide Chris, like most Scousers was very knowledgeable and full of wit... Overall, a great experience and just like Liverpool's motto of everyone being welcome, we were made to feel this way during our visit. We will return...

The location is fine if you don’t want to be right in the city centre. You are a 10 minute walk from the Albert docks. Parking was available and only £7 a day even on ladies day of the festival when we went. Paid £200 for 1 night which was okay as all hotels increase their prices for the festival. The hotel is a 3 star which could be downgraded to a 2 star in my opinion as the hotel is very outdated and in dire need of a refurb. All in all if you’re looking for somewhere just to get your head down this hotel is adequate.
