The village was deep in the heart of rural Cornwall and Google maps took us on a convoluted route, so we were mightily relieved to finally arrive at The Crown Inn. There is a beautiful church and a school opposite The Crown Inn. Inside the church it was clear that it supported a strong community - displays, notices about events, a welcome to all and -uniquely - an offer of refreshment to walkers ( a table where they could make themselves a drink)

Lanlivery is very well placed to explore the river Fowey estuary and only a short drive from Fowey itself. Looe and Polperro are not far as well. Other attractions are Helligan, THe Eden Project Lanhydrock house and the gorgeous woods of the Luxulyan valley.

Lanlivery is peaceful and beautiful.

Lanlivery is peaceful and beautiful. The nearby church and the farm shop are definitely worth visiting. Our sat nav took us along a long narrow lane, though if you look out for the brown sign to The Crown Inn, that road is a better one.

It's a lovely place to stay and New owner very easy to talk to and has good plans moving forward. Tracy breakfast really lovely and attentive . Young staff in the evening need training up and the young chef needs to be trained up to know what to serve and not serve eg mushrooms well past there sell by date. Was told specials menu changed every evening but it wasn't. Prices on some food needs looking at too pricey. Showers in the rooms defo need looking at gave up on them lol. Also needs a non slip mate in shower. But on the whole a really nice place to stay just few minor things need looking at but sure new owner will do that in time . Good luck with your new venture

Lanlivery is a small hamlet inland from Fowey.

Lanlivery is a small hamlet inland from Fowey. There is a lovely old church behind The Crown Inn which we visited. Beautiful views from the church graveyard. Very handy area for visiting NT properties and gardens, including Eden Project, Lanhydrock, Heligan, beaches and other places of interest in the area

Very quiet, no shops, only The Crown Inn, church and schools, farms and residential low rise buildings. Very rural. Access via narrow High banked bendy lanes with passing places that need careful slow driving be prepared to meet on coming traffic
