Liked the location for exploring both the east and west coasts of Cornwall. Comfortable room and outstanding restaurant with a creative chef. We asked for a quiet room and, although we were there on a weekend and the hotel was hosting large gatherings, we did not hear one noise! Great people working here too, friendly and competent. Highly recommend.

My son and I stayed in a room with two twin beds and it was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The continental breakfast included excellent fresh coffee, delicious croissants, and more. The whole place was clean and inviting; the staff were above and beyond accommodating. If I ever go back to Truro, I would definitely stay in Hotel Vara again.

The hotel was located in the city centre, near the cathedral, famous Lemon Street, shops, and a bus station. The rooms were clean and there was a lovely garden behind the house. Apart from a shower gel and a shampoo we were also given a vanity kit, which was a huge plus. Right after our arrival, we were invited to a little dining room where we could get coffee, tea, or a hot chocolate, and a peace of a home-made cake. The continental breakfast, which was a pleasant and unexpected surprise, was delicious. The hotel belongs to an elderly couple, both of them were really lovely and helpful and created a uniquely pleasant atmosphere!

Ben was a great host and very accommodating throughout our stay. The room was very comfortable and Ben prepared us a great breakfast each morning. The location was ideal for us as we had a wedding in Pengelly Barn which was a 2 min walk from the B&B. Would highly recommend staying here
