We loved almost every aspect of our stay! And have been telling both Scots and other Canadians about how wonderful the accommodations were. Celiacs… run to this hotel. They not only accommodate a gluten-allergy but they cater to it. For example, I had gluten-free croissants for breakfast and they were great 😍🤯😍! The servers and hosts were all fantastic, especially a woman who wore a little horse pendant around her neck… I can’t remember her name but she stood out as a superstar. The location is perfect. Just far enough to be off the main tourist path and just a quick walk to be right in the middle of town of Portree. Also, loved the bathroom products.

Exceptional! Beautiful family house near Portree. Our hosts were super nice and helpful! Our room was really clean and tidy, with lots of facilities that made our stay as pleasant as possible. Delicious and complete breakfast as well. I would totally go back.

This place provides food for thought when it comes to properties. We knew the property would be lovely, but the quietness, the warmth of the property and all the dishes, dishwasher washing machine and a decent oven just improved it’s ratings. The glazing, all we heard was the wind, not the rain, the storm that came through was massive. I do recommend this property, it has given me ideas for my own property. Thank you Norskye Bothy we had a fabulous night.

I liked that we felt completely surrounded by nature yet...

I liked that we felt completely surrounded by nature yet disconnected from the hustle and bustle of the busy cities. The only sounds that could be heard for miles was those of the birds in the trees, the distant cows grazing on farmland and the sound of raindrops falling over rooftops. I came to this location to completely let go of the stresses of my daily routine and I did exactly that! Theres few experiences quite like coming to another country with a deeply rich culture but there was so much to see and learn about Skye that I could have spent several lifetimes here and I would still be discovering new things to excite the senses and fuel my sense of adventure! This will be a trip I won’t soon forget.

It was only about 10min drive from Portree.. at first I wasn’t sure as there are no facilities in Kenssleyre, I thought it would be better in the main town of Portree however that thought quickly disappeared as we discovered getting around the main town was a bit frustrating. Staying in Kensaleyre gave us loch views, peace and serenity morning noon and night - but that’s a credit to our amazing accomodation at Rowan Cottage

Lovely position with a great view. Warm and cosy. Shops ( Large Co-op) 10 minutes drive away and all of Portree shops and restaurants a little bit further. Very good breakfast at Arriba ( worth the small wait) overlooking the harbour. Tourist Information was very helpful. Good , cheap long-stay parking in Portree.

The location was ideal for sightseeing as it is situated...

The location was ideal for sightseeing as it is situated roughly midway between Portree and Uig. A car is necessary. The lodge itself is a spacious wooden cabin with outdoor areas for dining. The bed is in a recess and might not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems. The TV is above the bed and not in the living area. Everything is provided that might be needed: hairdryer, towels, cleaning/dishwashing items, combi microwave oven, fridge with freezer compartment, 2 cooking rings, kettle, toaster, heater. A vase of fresh flowers and a basket of snacks were nice touches. We had fabulous weather which made all the difference as there is virtually nothing to do indoors on the island.

Fantastic shower, fabulous breakfast, very comfortable room, brilliant location. The hospitality of Linda and Ali was more than anyone could dream of - we had a wonderful stay - a very special 3 days at your home
