It is the sweetest accommodation I've ever been in. Everything is made to the latest detail in very nice way. I don´t have enough words to describe it... You have to experience it :) Also the area is beautiful (the cliffs, walks around the little city, sheeps and also rabbits around...). I would definitely recommend to stay longer than one night. And be sure to visit the farm and little shop full of handmade things. I´m in love with this place and hopefully will come back one day :)

The location, the view, the surrounding was awesome - calm, serene and beautiful. The property was very clean and very comfortable. The facilities and amenities were very good. We managed to get food on site and we managed to cook too. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting JOG. We wished we stayed a bit longer.

Located along the north coast, it’s a great spot for exploring. There’s a very personal touch with this hotel, and we were made to feel very welcome. The breakfast was cooked to perfection, as was the evening meal. We sat in the lounge in front of the fire in the afternoon and enjoyed the ambiance of a very tastefully decorated room. The location was very relaxing and quiet. Such a pretty outlook. The lounge was a lovely place to quietly read and we enjoyed the books and magazines on offer. The staff were friendly and chatty. A wonderful experience and well worth the stopover. I would thoroughly recommend staying there. It was such a treat.

Our stay at Burnside Cottage was amazing. Kacey was the perfect host, welcoming us when we arrived. The bed was comfortable and the shower great. In fact, the room was very well designed. We had everything we needed, including some really lovely organic soap and lots of hooks in the bathroom. Especially important for us, there was a fridge in the room. A lot of thought has gone in to making sure guests are comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were outstanding, the best food we had been served so far in our trip. I would not hesitate to book again if we get the opportunity to return.

A fantastic, unique stay to add your list of places to visit when touring through Scotland. The location was easy to find as it's relatively near to the road, but you cannot hear any road noise while inside. The views from the property are breathtaking, overlooking the sea, where you feel completely cut off from the world. The lodge has all the amenities you need. Communication and self-check-in were also very easy.

John O Groats is a very small place. which sort of has to be visited if your in the area. I wouldn't rate it as a destination if it wasn't for the fact its the northern most point on mainland UK

The John O'Groats visitor centre has a range of shops and...

The John O'Groats visitor centre has a range of shops and eateries aimed at tourists. The parking fee is £3.50, but you can stay all day. The cafes tend to close early - from 5pm to around 6.30. After that there is only the Seaview Hotel. The centre wasn't as crowded as I thought it might be and we were able to take photos at the iconic sign post. We took a walk along to Duncansby Head. It was too late in the season for nesting birds (no puffins!) but the views were spectacular. (See Wikipedia for more info.)

Hotel dirty got put in a b&b not in the hotel even though I paid for a hotel not a b&b Was told no rooms in the hotel yet surprise when we told them we was on the phone to booking.com the 2 rooms we paid for suddenly became available breakfast was nice

Loved the location and the staff were lovely, unfortunately didnt like the breakfast it was ver small and greasy, meal in the evening though was excellent. Room was sub standard, toilet kept blocking, could barely get in and out of shower as gap so small, window wouldnt close and room had no clothes storage and only one bedside table, very small and stuffy also. Would not stay here again

We were there the end of April and basically nothing was...

We were there the end of April and basically nothing was open yet. Our only dinner choice was a fish and chips food truck that stopped taking orders at 18,30. The cafe that serves coffee and food didnt open till 10,00, so if you need to leave before then keep it in mind. Other than that, it is a beautiful location, just from the pier we saw many seals and otters. The trip to the lighthouse and walk from there to the stacks was incredible, we saw a few puffins nesting in the cliffs. I wish we had had more time to explore the area and beaches.

Managed to get some lovely fish & chips in the store house...

Managed to get some lovely fish & chips in the store house which was delicious and we loved the little pub/ bar in the last house John ogroats brewery . Coffee and pastries this morning before we left in stacks deli which was also delicious. All the staff in the shops were so friendly and helpful.

Great stay at John o Groats! Our apartment was clean, spacious and had a stunning view! The window bench was a real highlight! Kitchen had everything we needed. After most of the tourists are gone in the afternoon the place is very nice and peaceful. There is a Fish and Chips Takeaway, a small pub with brewery to sit and drink in the evening and a distillery nearby, so almost everything needed, except a supermarket! Great base to explore the northern NC500 or the Orkneys. Would definitely recommend and come again!

The hostess was very welcoming, warm and friendly. The accommodation is just a short walk from the town up a quiet street, and only a short walk from a local hotel where they have a restaurant.The beds are very comfortable and one of the best I have slept in. I would definitely recommend puffin cottage for a quiet and comfortable stay. There is also a petting farm if you have small children.
