The White Hart Was a great choice for us for a couple of nights. We were room only so can’t comment on the breakfast but we eat there in the evening and it was all good. The look of the County Hotel is exceptional. The surroundings are picturesque. Rooms are good. The reception is very welcoming. Car park has plenty of spaces. The disabled car parking spaces are very near to the Reception entrance, which was very convenient. Free wifi. Not too far from the hustle bustle of London. I should have known from the price that it would not be to the standard I expected. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size but the bathroom was small and a bit dated. Set in extensive grounds. We decided to eat there and were delighted to find that they offered a normal menu as well as an Indian menu. My wife is a vegitarian and likes Indian food but was disappointed in dishes available for her. Her pompadoms were served after her main and she left them. I had a steak but the chips were very over cooked. The waitress gave me a free glass of wine to compensate. Breakfast was not nice. We throughly enjoyed our stay in Hook, we stayed at Warbrook House (a stunning yet affordable heritage hotel) where we spent the afternoon exploring the grounds and ate at the restaurant which was very pleasant. The next day we went to West Green House Gardens which was absolutely delightful! We didn’t want to leave. We spent our final evening in the ‘Tally Ho’ for dinner which was delicious with great service too. We will definitely return for another trip as there were many beautiful areas and walking routes which we didn’t get round to exploring.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
