Byford's occupies the oldest building in Holt, which reflects in its ambience and character. The staff were always helpful and on hand should we require it. The timing of breakfast service was up to 2pm and was classed as brunch, which meant that everything available on the restaurant brunch menu for the general public, was also available to residents and included in the price. Byford's is also in the centre of Holt and within walking distance of all shops, restaurants, cafe's (of which there are many to choose from) and a variety of speciality establishments including art and craft galleries.

Holt is the prettiest town which we visit every November.

Holt is the prettiest town which we visit every November. Lovely independent shops to have a wander around in. Definitely worth a visit especially once the Christmas lights are up, so many shops join in and it looks truly stunning.

Holt has made a name for itself through the years, good for shopping, within easy reach of many interesting. Beach villages and lovely country, several good eating places and pubs. I would highly recommend it for a short holiday

Holt is the best town to stay in when on holiday in north Norfolk It has everything a town should have shops restaurants takeaways tearooms a supermarket bakeries It’s small easy to walk around It is touristy but that means it has some nice luxury shops If you like Chinese food the takeaway was the best I’ve ever eaten

Excellent range of independent shops and eateries. Well placed for visits to all local attractions both inland and on the coast. A go-to shop is definitely Bakers and Larners who sell anything from a range cooker to a packet of seeds. We sampled delicious eggs benedict and coffee in the cafe. There are many boutiques to suit all pockets, a bookshop and bakers. Although we didn’t visit, the two pubs had good menus posted outside.

Lovely country market town with high quality shops and easy to walk around. Not too many restaurants in town but plenty in the surrounding countryside. Easy and quick access to the North Norfolk coast by car.

Holt is a well-situated base for exploring the coast, with easy access to Cromer, Sheringham, Wells, and Blakeney—perfect for those looking to make the most of their stay. This charming town has everything you need for a comfortable visit if you prefer to stay local. For evening dining, the best options can be found in nearby pubs, as choices within the town itself are somewhat limited. Lots of lovely cafes and tea rooms and some nice independents and antique shops.

A magical stay in a Norfolk windmill - an unforgettable experience! The Stone Room was stunning, with epic sunset views from the balcony. Breakfast was fantastic - I had smoked salmon, my partner had the English breakfast, and both were perfectly done. The staff were warm and attentive, and the whole place felt truly special. Highly recommend!

Staying in Holt is such a perfect base for exploring Norfolk. The apartment is lovely and warm, immaculately presented and has a great kitchen with everything you need. Having off street parking in such a central location is brilliant. The owners replied to any questions I had very quickly.

Very pleasant weekend, good food and comfortable surroundings. Bonus was the Sunday market held right outside the hotel on the first Sunday. Nice shower and toiletries. A good base for visiting North Norfolk
