Fantastic people and atmosphere at the Compasses Inn was exactly what we were looking for during our trip to the countryside of the UK. We stumbled upon a festival and had a great time at The Plum. All the staff were helpful and welcoming. One of the few places where dogs feel great and can enjoy the time with their owners. Really recommend this accommodation for all those that seek tranquility, nature, lovely people and tasty food with some local beers and vines. Everything was authentic, fresh and locally-made. Hands down the best English breakfast we ever had and probably the coziest and most picturesque cottage we have seen.

The staff were really nice and friendly and provided a very warm welcome. The room was lovely and the beds were really comfortable with added blankets on the bed to get truly cosy. We paid for the breakfast which was made with care out of quality ingredients. Plenty of parking was available too. Couldn’t ask for anything better. Plan to visit again when coming back to see Longleat.

The check in was very easy to do even we’ve arrived around 9pm. Rooms are perfectly decorated and very clean. Lovely breakfast with home-made welsh cookies. Thank you for the warm stay. Will definitely recommend this place.

Wonderful warm and friendly welcome. Lovely cosy bedroom. Roaring open log fire in our own sitting room. First class breakfast, so much choice and excellent quality. Highly recommend this great B&B.

Dreamy is the one word that comes to mind. The whole property is quaint and just beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal Oak. From the rooms to the location. We loved everything. The breakfast was delicious and made with quality ingredients. The rooms were perfect for our needs. Clean and beautifully decorated. Coming from a different country we did have some trouble with internet service but I think It has to do with our roaming service. We can't wait to return.

The property has a nice private location on the first floor with an outside staircase for access. It is attached to the hosts’ home. All our needs were covered and a welcome pack of milk, biscuits, tea, coffee, fruit and croissants with butter and jam for breakfast was lovely and greatly appreciated. Steve and Michelle are very friendly and welcoming.

I had great communication from Sofya from the moment we booked and she had confirmed our arrival time. She let us know there was no time pressure and provided us with the code. After a long day out exploring we had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful annexe. It was very clean and even all the small things like milk in the fridge were thought of. The hosts had provided something to entertain my son which was very kind and then we enjoyed watching a movie before bed on the sofa. The bedding and towels were clean and smelt amazing and again they had provided everything for a comfortable stay. The sofa was super comfy and my son had a good nights sleep. The location was quiet which made for a peaceful nights sleep and the bonus of a parking space out front so no need to worry about our car. The kitchen area was well equipped with everything you would need and the hosts had provided some essentials for breakfast which we thought was a lovely touch as I had forgotten to grab something at the shop. Overall it was great and when discussed about our next trip down to the area we both didn’t hesitate to say we would stay again.

A lovely old pub.

A lovely old pub. Very comfortable accommodation perfect for a good night's sleep, and lovely think towels and good shower. Breakfast was fabulous with plenty of choices and lots of fresh fruit etc available. Evening meal good too. A delightful village and lots of nearby places to explore.

Friendly landlord offered me coffee upon arrival after long solo drive. The room had fresh coffee and cafetière. Bath most welcome to unwind and soothe aches after 3 hour drive. The purpose of the visit was to attend a wedding in a nearby village.

We didn't get to spend much time in Hindon but the...

We didn't get to spend much time in Hindon but the neighborhood we were in was very lovely. We walked around a bit after we checked in, before we sat down for dinner. We didn't have a chance to go into any shops as it was late when we arrived but we very much enjoyed our stroll around the area.

The Lamb Inn looks very much as good in reality as it does in the photos. The pub itself has loads of historic character, very atmospheric and is tastefully renovated as are the guest rooms combining modern elements while retaining and respecting its heritage and sense of history. Its location in the beautiful picturesque village of Hindon is also a great plus and a pleasure to walk around. A very good base to explore the Wiltshire countryside and nearby areas.

Hindon is a lovely little village just off the A303. The pub is in the heart of the village and is really nice and cosy with log fires and a great selection of drinks. The food menu is excellent with a good choice on offer. I had the steak and ale pie which was really good. The staff were all friendly and really helpful. Our room was very comfortable and a very generous size I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place and look forward to visiting again.

Lovely charming building with history. Very nice room with nice touches like a coffee machine and shortbread biscuits left. Even had Netflix. Would definitely stay again and the price was £90 a night. A bargain as this is easily a £100 plus hotel

The food was excellent does what it says on the tin country pub with rooms good atmosphere. You do have to be aware apart from being a pretty village there isn't much in Hindon but A303 is closed by for travelling around the area

The staff were exemplary, the food delicious and the location great. Home made cookies and fresh milk in the room was appreciated. Do note this is a pub and not a hotel so expect some noise from the bar area below.
